I thought I would share with you two bits of important bunny news that need your attention.  There is lots to be happy about and more work to do to help bunnies so read these two notices and do what you can.  BTW, there are links to videos that are very graphic, so if you would rather not watch them, please skip them…
        RabbitWise ACTION ALERT
Important advances in skin irritancy testing will reduce the need for use of animals for these cruel and inhumane procedures:

What you can do to get the USA to follow suit:
Please visit this complete article at  http://blog. peta.org/ archives/ 2008/12/peta_ europe_hel. php and leave a comment thanking PETA Europe for saving so many rabbits from torture and losing their lives.  PETA is hoping to do the same thing in the USA.  Let’s make sure we support those efforts!  Follow the links in the article and write letters to your congress people.

Let’s get this done for the rabbits and the other laboratory animals!

        We have news for you!

Thanks to the hard work of peta2’s staff, members, Street Teamers, and volunteers and after we exposed her cruel use of fur online, Donna Karan has announced that all her Fall 2009 lines will be fur-free and that she has “no plans” to use fur in the future. Well done, everyone!

Karan’s turnaround came days after peta2 launched our online campaign and after Tim Gunn Project Runway‘s mega–fashion guru, sent Karan and designer Giorgio Armani a video that he narrated for peta2 showing animals skinned alive for their fur and urged them to open their eyes to the violent and bloody fur industry.

Thank you for helping to make this happen. Let’s keep going strong too. While Donna Karan has followed in the footsteps of top designers—including Ralph Lauren, Tommy Hilfiger, and Calvin Klein—Armani still refuses to stop using fur. Armani claims that he “only” uses fur from rabbits who are butchered for meat. We hope that you will take this opportunity to contact Armani to tell him that while the meat of gentle rabbits killed for their fur in China is sold to be eaten, the suffering that they endure is exactly the same. Point out that the cruelty depicted in this video of fur farms in both China and France show animals who are used for both fur and meat.

Thank you for helping to make the world safer for fur-bearing animals, and best wishes for a happy and humane holiday season!

        Sincerely,

The PETA Files: PETA Europe Helps Lab Save Thousands of Rabbits
This will save thousands of rabbits. This wonderful news means that animals will not be used in the overwhelming majority of such tests in the future in Europe. The MatTek Corporation announced yesterday that the European Centre for the

          That’s great news!
I tried to watch one of those videos, but it was far too disturbing. I starting balling right in the beginning and had to stop it!
How can anyone do that to ANY animal? Ugh. Absolutely disgusting. That’s going to be all I think about all day now.
Great post though, I’m glad they’re getting through to some people.

I can’t watch it thanks for the warning.  I do know of what I read in a book by PETA .   The treatment of lab rabbits is horrible and so unneccesary.

And I like my fur still on the rabbit.
