A couple of months ago I saw an ad for a bunny free to a good home. I called and asked why he was being given away and a breeder answered. She said he’s come from another breeder, been given to a home, who didn’t want him now that his hormones were acting up. and he’d come to this breeder who didn’t want him because she couldn’t breed him.
He’s a beautful orange satin bunny and he has a beautiful nature.
Anyway someone from bunspace said she wanted a bunny friend for her rabbit, so we went there and the two bunnies got along ok and she took him home. I had him neutered and she started bonding the two.
Now I’ve just got a phone call saying that she can’t handle him, he fights with her bunny and she wants to rehome him.
I just feel so frusterated because they got along really well at my place & I think it’s the way she’s bonding them. I know I’m no expert on bonding but I really believe in asking advice and exploiting all resources and I think she’s given up to quickly.
So now I’m sitting here in tears because he has to go to yet another home and it’s just not fair on him! He’s had four homes in his 6 month life and it’s just awful for him! I just feel like this has been the most terrible mistake. What if we’d left him there and he’d found a great forever home instead of being tossed away again.
I’m sorry, I’m rambling but I just feel so awful for the poor bunny. It’s not his fault and it’s just so unfair on him.
On the same topic, does anyone have any tips on rehoming him? Not that I’m the one rehoming him, she wont let me. I just have to sit back and watch.
