I am so sad to say that Pepper and Dylan’s time as free range house rabbits is ending today.  Pepper has been a very messy bunny and her litter habits appear to be getting worse.  Most of the time I think she is marking her territory, recently she discovered that it is comfy to sit on top of the couch (where my head is) and she has never peed there – I’ve decided it’s because Dylan hasn’t discovered he can jump that high yet and so it remains her space.

I feel it’s such a shame to cage Dylan because he is so good and tidy but it wouldn’t be nice to leave him running about while Pepper has to stay in the cage at night.  Dylan only seems to become active at nine in the evening at which time we are always thinking of putting him back in the cage.

Anyway, I’m off to buy more carpet cleaner and begin the process of building again.

it’s okay lornatrae. like we said before, not all buns can be totally free-range all the time. you gave it a good try. it might be possible to revisit this idea some time in the future, as Pepper gets older and more used to Dylan, this might all calm down.

            Whoa, deja-vu!

It’s sad, isn’t it, one bunny can be so good, and the other one just doesn’t get it?  I’m still trying to figure out if it’s training, or just individual personality that’s a factor.  I opt for the latter, and in that case, ‘what can’t be cured must be endured.’
