        Why would Buttercup be chasing around and mounting her male friend? They have bnen bonded for a few months now. ideas?

          mounting is how they establish dominance, who is “top bun”…

          as long as the mounting is not turning aggressive by either of them, it is okay.

          did you go thru the bonding process with them and they are now housed together 24/7?

            Yeah they were housed together for most of it. Thanks for the info about the mounting. Thats what I thought. But why would it all of a sudden be coming up? Can dominance change?

              with coming of age, hormones change, and a rabbit can become more or less dominant.

                some will go thru a dominance thing several times over the course of their lives. you just want to make sure it is not turning aggressive.

                    I have noticed Kay will mount Winston if I give Winston too much attention.
                    Kind of like she saying “He is My man! Not yours!”

                      If he got neuterd would that make her think shes more domanant? My female Puff has been mounting my male, Fluff since he got neutered

                        No, the neutering/spaying wouldn’t change who is top bun; But he may smell different to her, so maybe she think he’s a different bun that she’s gotta ‘train’ all over again to know she’s the boss
