I was cleaning the cage today I was cleaning up the poop and one of the peices of poop got flattened and I pressed all the peices of poop that got picked up and they all went flat if there was pressure on them they were runny but they weren’t how rabbit poop normaly is. did they look like small grape clusters? they could be cecals (the poop that the buns eat to get nutrients). they will sometimes overproduce them if the diet is too rich… is there poop on the bunny?

theres no poop on the bunny and their not in clusters so it’s just cecals then? Because they did have like 3 yogurt treats because they got into the treat bag today

It’s great that you keeping an eye on their poo! We all have become poopologists – it is the best way to figure out what is going on with them healthwise.

Cecals can be in a grape like cluster, however, I have seen Rucy consuming hers and they are formed individual soft poos that she normally just gets straight from her pooper. But on rare occasions, when she leaves her spot, she may leave one or two behind…and they looked like normal poops, but just squishy. Your descripton sounds like a bit of cecal that was left behind.

And Beka is right that leaving them behind could have been a result of having a diet that’s too rich and they just didn’t comsume all of their cecals. The fact that they had just broken into the treats may explain it. Just keep an eye on them to make sure that after this everything goes back to normal.

I know they broke into the treats – mine have done that before too when I left the treat bag out on a side table, and I just keep a close eye on them for next 24 hours to make sure it hasn’t upset their digestive system in a serious way. (I do recommend staying away from yogurt drops all together though )

              Keep us updated

Would spinach cause cecals. Because Johney has been pooping cecals just this past 10 minutes. Their kinda shiny and really soft but non of it is sticking to Johney

Any new veggie or food can cause them to get slightly upset stomachs-especially if they are sensitive. A diet very rich in calories can also can cause them to over produce cecals. I’d wait and offer spinach again in maybe a weeks time, if your bunny does this after the spinach the next time then you may just not want to feed spinach.
