Two cups a day would be plenty anyway. Maybe he’s filling up a bit on hay during the day also. Mine sometimes doesn’t polish of all her greens. She’s going thru a molt right now which I think is affecting her appetite.

Just make sure he doesn’t eat more than the recommended amount of pellets ecause otherwise he might get a bit chubby

That is a bunch of greens – you could try cutting down on the pellets to encourage him to eat more hay and pellets. You don’t want him to overeat on the pellets.

what amount of pellets is he eating? and when do you feed them? have you changed veggies, are you offering anything new?

i give greens in the morning and they graze on them all day (my pair splits about 6 cups). usually by the evening they’re gone or just about gone and that’s when i give pellets… a little more than a 1/4 cup for them to share. the pellets are gone by the morning along with a good amount of their hay…

its not quite four cups. he is free fed pellets but i guess thats not such a good idea. before he never ate them now all the sudden he is. i am going to try beka’s approach with just 1/4 pellets at night and greens only in the am. now i am feeding him about 1.5 cups of greens in the am and again when i get home. his pellet bowl is always half full no more than a third of a cup i guess before the pellets would stay and he would eat all greens and hay. he is eating hay pretty good actually. though he is chubbing up. i guess i have been doing it all wrong, i assumed rabbtis always had to be eating and pooping so its okay for him to have an empty bowl? as long as there is hay?

no wonder he is not evil anymore! i won his heart with food! lol!

as long as there is always plenty of hay, he should never go hungry! the fiber is so important that it’s better they graze all day on that than on pellets. most of us cannot free-feed pellets. i know KokanneandKahlua free-feeds her buns, but most buns need to be restricted…

I noticed that Coco has been more gung -ho for pellets in the last week or so – but she did just finish ( almost) a massive molt ( as I continue to pick floating bunny hair out of my nose)
And I have been plying her with Hay, Hay and More Hay.

Plus I opened a new bag – so maybe the last bag wasn’t tasting as fresh? Is yours a new bag?
