came across this site while surfing the net, if anyone was interested in checking out the diff. rabbit breeds
Mr. Bunny is an American…Apparently a very rare breed?
They forgot the lionhead.
Why did they leave out the lionhead boohooo.
You know thats how I can tell if a rabbit book is current. Asides from checking the date printed is if they mention the lionhead then I know they are up to date.
That is a big list of rabbits
yeah, i was actually thinking that too, cuz the lion head is so new…
my next bunny is gonna be a lionhead…..then a dutch….then a rex….then…….and the list goes on….
i wish they had better pics… or a couple for each breed… it’s hard to really tell what one looks like from their pics.
hahahaha, some of them don’t even look like rabbits! Does anyone have a hare? They look like they would be too skittish to be domesticated….
Mmm…I like the Thrianta…
And all black lops…
And rexes…
The Creme D’Argent is nice too…
And I love Lionheads…
the next rabbit is gonna be one of those! ![]()
I’m glad you posted this because I still haven’t gotten the final answer about what breed Samantha is. Looking here, I think she could be part English Spot. She doesn’t have any dark on her muzzle, and fewer spots, but otherwise the resemblance is strong. Hmmm…
Hey Pam, i def think Samantha has some English spot in her. Traditional markings are the line down the back, dappling each side, eye patches, butterfly patch on nose and a cheek spot. Samantha def has line on back and eye patches. I think Jersey has some ES in her, and pretty sure that’s what Lightchick’s Lizzie was labelled as in her former home. The ES’s get to 8-9lbs i think, so will see how big your Sammy gets – but I’m pegging her as a medium weight rabbit (5-6lbs). Which would mean she’s crosssed with a smaller breed.
I don’t know about hot tot – do they have eye patch or the eye liner, as in the skin is coloured around the eye? She may have some of that too.
ya know what would be cool? to have a BB breeds thread. so if you know with somewhat certainty what your bun is, or mostly what your bun is, we could post their pic as that breed… just one pic per bun, the best one you have that fully shows what they are…
so Meadow, Fiver, Stormy, Spockie in the mini rex post…
Maryann, Kokanee, the new baby Twilah in the dutch…
Cotton, Ruby, Kahlua in the lionhead…
i know i’m missing a bunch but just off the top of my head, i think it’d be a fun idea…
it wouldn’t be definitive (we don’t have all the recognized breeds represented), but it would be like our personal bunny photo album… thoughts? the FLs (probably me and K&K) could edit it together… and just lift some of the pics from exisitng threads…
yeah! lets do it!!!! great idea…plus then we can look at cutie-patootie pictures!

That would be cool…Hehe, lots of cute bunny pictures all at once…
Would there be a thread for all the mutts? Like possible Flemish X EnglishSpot X Mini Lop X Muppet. Or Lionhead X Dragon. Or Dutch X Einstein. Or Netherland Dwarfeth X Cutie-meister (I coined that one today
)
LOL – or Cutie-Monster!
So would that make it a Cutie-Muttser breed?
mutts are my favorite so definitely! who knows, all the photos might help folks narrow down what their mutt is… lol.
Beka I’m in to do that thread!! Should we do a seperate one for each breed maybe? Or just one with name of breed/picture etc?
i was thinking one thread but different posts. as leaders we can edit the post and add pics in… so first post dutch and then we edit to add all the pics in… second post mini rex… etc… the pics could be listed with the bunnies name and the member’s name (alphabetically by member’s name)
i started the thread!
you can find it here… https://binkybunny.com/FORUM/tabid/54/forumid/6/postid/87811/view/topic/Default.aspx
c’mon everyone, submit your photos!
I submitted one Beka ![]()
beka do you know why the “Challenge…” post doesn’t pop up on my forums when a new one is posted?
I clicked on the “English Spot” link to look up Lizzy…and it just made me mad to see my beautiful obnoxious bunny described in such clinical terms!
Which is weird, because I come from a dog-showing background, where that’s normal… Anyone seen “Best in Show”?–not far from the truth, as far as my experience shows! But even if they’re neurotic, dog-show people still love their dogs…. I’ve never met a “rabbit show” person. I have an ugly suspicion they are less forgiving of imperfection…
(As I bring a happy thread down…I love your new breed thread, Beka! I’m not going the be joining the AESRC anytime soon, though!)
