that is one relaxed bunny!
He was doing it facing the TV before, but it was a Britney Spears special and I think he got bored ![]()
LMAO!!!
Hee hee how cute! I don’t think it’s classified as a “flop” – more like a “sprawl”. A “flop” is when they are sitting/standing upright and then just flop over on thier side. But what you have here is definitely a happy and relaxed bunny. I *heart* bunntocks! Nomnomnomnom!
Love the back legs!!!
I hope you don’t mind – I wanted a better look.
I agree that it’s not a flop per se, but it’s the pose that a bunny takes when they are at their most relaxed. He feels sooooo safe here.![]()
Yep that’s what my Drue does when he’s super relaxed..he just kind of melts into it.
Flopping looks to me as if the bunny is pretending to be shot and just flops over lol.
Jimmy looks really relaxed on that fluffy couch!
This webpage has a tiny video of a rabbit flopping, as well as some really great information

LOL – Yep, he’s just chillin’! CUTE! The flop is more, they throw themselves on their side or back and sort of go into a trance. They go still and eye’s are open and rolled a bit. You can approach and they don’t see you or stir. It’s kinda scary looking! Actually, Cassi ^^ posted one of her Charlie in a flop pose recently. He was kicking/maybe even binkied in his ‘sleep’ ! It shows the pose and eye thing REALLY well.
It’s in this thread:-

He is a proper chilled little guy that is for sure.![]()
I cannot believe how well behaved he is for an 8 week old. Of course he is a chewer (bye bye new table legs), and loves to hide under the couch (but not so much now we have blocked it), but he is almost litter trained already, and even gave me a little kiss on the nose last night….
It is great, we found out which corner he liked to poop in, put his litter box there and all was good. The occasional poop on the floor or couch, but the rest either in his cage or in the tray. Amazing.
And when he crawled onto my chest when I was reading, came upwards under my book and licked my nose….. I nearly melted ![]()

More photos to follow, by the way, I have been told that he is a Netherland Dwarf….. which would make sense as we are in Holland, but does anybody know what type of rabbit he is?
Thanks
the tiny ears look like netherland dwarf… can you post more pics of his face and whole body? but yes, i’m pretty sure he’ s an ND…
Adorable! I love when buns kick out their back feet when relaxing. My Peanut girl does that all the time and your bun looks like a smaller version of her – color and shape wise!

Here is a flop. I’ve caught her a few times flopped completely on to her back, but of course she moves by the time I get the camera to try to snap a picture. ![]()

These pictures are TOO cute!
I can’t resist a little fluffy bunny butt when they are in the comfy sprawl. My rabbits hate me b/c I grab their little butts all the time…..sooo cute!
Oh the irony of a Netherland in the Netherlands!!!! Can’t stop laughing..OMG
I agree that the ears look like Netherland dwarf, but I thought they were usually colored black w/ white bellies or brown w/ white bellies? I also thought that they have a distinct lighter colored undercoat to their fur. My N-dwarf is colored like Tuckerbunz.
Chubby Bunny: Your chiller looks sooo relaxed. He can’t even keep his bunny eyes open.
If he’s only 8 weeks and he’s chilling like that? That is great! He obviously trusts you guys! Be prepared for some changes when he starts to mature – but never fear, we’ll all help you through those! lol.
BTW, Jimmy bun, I’m bored with Britney too!
At my house we call that pose the “Superman”
Kahlua does the most amazing flops I’ve ever seen, she’ll go feet right up in the air and often stay like that! We’ve found her asleep a few times with all four legs in the air
She also allows you to ‘flop’ her-If your petting her, you can stretch her onto her side and she stays like that! It’s pretty funny!
Hey all
Just took some new photos last night of the little devil. We were decorating the Xmas tree so he was very curious about that ![]()
And a quick update…… HE FLOPPED ![]()
It was like he had been shot hahahaha, and once he started, he kept on doing it…. He thinks it is like his new magic trick or something ![]()
So anyway, If you are able to let me know for sure what kind of bunny he is from these pics it would be great, want to make a birth certificate to surprise my girlfriend and would like to get the details correct ![]()
Thanks again everybody

i’m no expert on breed, and from those pics i really can’t decide if he’s a netherland. someone more experienced will have to weigh in. i don’t know that his ears are small enough for a ND, i think he just looks like a baby bunny and that’s why he’s small. how much does he weigh approx?
i love that he is sprawled out in the middle of the room. that is a seriously comfortable bunny. mine will sprawl, but it’s normally along the outside edges of the room, never right smack dab in the MIDDLE! (granted i have a 5 year old son, so they’ve probably learned it’s better to keep to the outskirts… lol!) what an amazing bunny!
I agree I’m not thinking netherland dwarf. Their ears are very small and quite forward on the head, and they have very large eyes too; It’s hard to tell from the pics though
Could certainly be ND dwarf! He’s very very cute either way!
Mmm…I vote Jimmy’s a Netherland Dwarfeth X Cutie-meister! Check out “My buns on utube” thread in lounge. This one looks like yours!
I think he looks like a kitten. He’s so cute! No idea about the breed though.
So hard to tell – The ears and flat face do resemble a Netherland Dwarf, but baby bunnies of many different kinds of breeds can really look alike, so maybe for the cerificate if you don’t know for sure, you can just put “Adorable Bunny” and just make it certificate light-hearted.
