So yesterday we drove all the way down into Oregon to Jill Pfaff’s house it was about 51/2 hours there and 5 hours to get home. Well my friend Kim bought a Harlequin dutch buck that is super cute and outgoing. I finally got my Blue Dutch doe I have wanted forever, she is still kind of skittish. Although at 71/2 weeks she is still young enough to warm up to me (hopefully).

I think I got a steal with her she is show quality came with her pedigree for only $25 can you believe that(I paid $40 for Sherbert in a petshop and she’s a mix breed). She only has a couple slight faults that still might go away when her baby coat sheds out. I love her to death already! She is my first purebred rabbit ever. Well her is my new girl:

I still can’t decide on a name for her it’s between Teala, Delilah, or Twilah. What do you all think?

She is a bit large, she’s as big as Luna my 5 month old LionLop who is about 2 1/2 lbs. I can’t wait to see what she’s going to look like grown up. All the other rabbits in the barn (she had over 100 rabbits in there, mothers with litters included) were beautiful. My girl was the only blue dutch she had available at the time, all the others were to young.

Yeah I  like chocolate Dutches too, I wasn’t sure wether I was going to get a blue or a chocolate until I saw my girl. I just had to have her.

She’s so pretty – she reminds me of Mango, my rabbit in my avatar. He’s gray and white too.

I love the Dutchies – I have 2 others besides Mango.

Dutches are very smart rabbits in my opinion.

She’s really beautiful! I love the blue.

Naturally, I first like Twilah, but if you don’t get a tie-breaker, my second choice is Delilah.

What a beautiful bunny!  It would be so hard to go home with only one after seeing all of them there!  I know what  you mean though- sometimes you lay eyes on a bunny and that is your bunny, no doubt about it.  Sounds like it was meant to be!  My first bunny (years ago) when I was a kid was a chocolate Dutch- I had about 5 Dutch bunnies total when I was a kid.  I loved them, and they had excellent temperments.  I nver knew a bunny could growl and stomp until I was 33 years old and got a Mini Lop!  My Dutch rabbits did not prepare me for Diva-bunniness in any way at all!

Congrats- and be warned we will want more pics!  And a name update when you decide on the perfect one!

Just wanted to update everyone that she is officially (unless I change it) Twilah. And she is already starting to warm up to me, she walked to me when I was sitting in the x-pen with her and jumped into my lap! I am soo glad she seems to have accepted me.

She’s absolutely gorgeous! I love the colour. It’s so striking with the white.

She’s Sweet! I’m glad you picked Twilah, it had my vote. Sort of like Twilight, not quite dark yet, just like her! Def hope you post more pics, also wouldn’t mind seeing pics of your friends Harlequin dutch if you can wrangle it!

Twilah (I think with a Y) is also a famous modern dancer and choreographer – I’m sure she’d admire the flexibility and moves of bunnies.
