Happy post-Thanksgiving everyone!   I hope you were able to control those calories and have a bit of lighter fare over the Holiday!

I am proud to say that I only went 23 calories over my 1600 calorie per day limit.   I got to the gym Turkey Day morning at 7 am and did a little extra cardio before the big feast and afterwards I took a nice long walk.  I am pretty giddy right now as I had my weigh-in and measurements taken again today after training at the gym for three weeks now.  I lost 10 pounds!   One inch around my waist is gone and a whopping three inches is gone from my hips.  I’ve toned up my biceps and they shrank too as well as my thighs and chest.  It was very positive for me.  I suppose I should have guessed when I needed a belt because otherwise my pants would migrate down. LOL  I also fit into my “skinny” pants once again.  I haven’t been able to fit in them for two years but yesterday did I ever WOOHOO!  Yeah kind of silly to have kept them but they are my favorite jeans by Ralph Lauren – really soft and sexy looking.   I don’t plan on doing any major shopping for clothes until I’ve lost 30 more pounds, which is my goal.  So three weeks and I’m 1/4 of the way there!  WHEEE!

So how about you?  Do you have any tips on a sweet treat that won’t stick to your hips?  I’ve discovered the Del Monte fruit cups, no sugar added that have minimal calories but pack a  sweet punch.  The diced peaches are only 25 calories!  So come on aboard and share!

I have discovered that kissing my rabbit on the top of his head is very sweet and 0 calories.

Oh no! *shakes head* I am not going NEAR my scale for at least a few weeks. ^_^

I think I’m probably going to do better in the future, I have found that no matter how good it smells, I just can’t handle meat anymore. All veggies for this girl from now on!

Congrats Rose! ^_^ Oooh, I hope whatever weight loss bug you have, it’s contagious!

Me too! I know it is hard with the holidays and actually it isn’t the meat that adds too many calories if you stick with turkey, chicken or fish, it’s those danged side-dishes! The candied yams are outrageous with all their gooey goodness and marshmallow delight.

I plan on fighting back though, today I bought a Splenda cookbook. It’s got some nice low-cal goodies in it that I can indulge in once in a while.

Oooh, that’s a hard one for me. I can’t digest Splenda or other left-handed sugars. I have to stick to saccharin (not a good thing with my cancer history) or real sugar.
Yams….marshmallows….yummmmmm…… >.< *shakes head to clear it*

I do like baked potatoes though. But I tend to overload it with butter and sour cream. So that’s my big problem.
What if you just eat the side dishes and skip the meat?

                      Acai Berries:
Hey, I am not sure if this works but on a lot of sites it said it did and on Oprah it said it did. From what I’ve heard there are only three products that really work or something like that.
I guess you just take an Acai berry supplement or something, it is supposed to work, no side effects or anything, I have not heard one bad thing about it.

Try this site, it tells about the products that are supposed to work. http://www.acaihealthsite.com/ab/acai-berry-side-effectslp.php?t202id=2413&t202kw=acai%20berries

I think you can get a free trial, (only pay shipping) so you won’t waste money.

Again I have no Idea if it works or not, I just thought it was interesting. I was tempted to try it even though I don’t need to loose weight, I just wanted to try it for the other benefits. Haha, but I don’t think my mom would approve, she is always worried about me being too skinny so…. Yea. I guess I am too skinny, the doctor told me I was… but now, thankfully, I am in the clear!

I worry about anything I hear about that also appears in thousands of pieces of spam in my email inbox with the same name. I don’t mind using herbals/new drugs to treat illness from time to time…but there’s so many strange new things these days, I just don’t know how reliable, or safe, they are.

For instance, my mother-in-law was just recently trying to get my husband or I to buy her HGH over the internet because she is so desperate to lose weight. (She has a lot of medical conditions requiring medication that tends to keep her heavy, plus a genetic predisposition doesn’t help.)
Needless to say we refused, and tried to tell her this was all steroidal medication that could kill her sooner than help her. But who knows what her mindset will lead her to try next?

Oh and for those of you who are interested, I just heard a news report on the radio yesterday that some college campus is experimenting in their cafeteria with “Slammin’ Yam” ice cream. I wish I could remember which one they said. But I just HAD to bring it up. ^_^ Can you imagine what that must taste like?? *face puckers up*

Oh I’m sorry Moonlight Wolf, I’m not trying to diss your idea or anything. I just know that kind of thing can be chancy for me. I don’t mean to sound like I’m shooting you down or anything. ^_^
Hey at one time, all medicines/cures were ‘new’ and untried, the only way to know for sure if they work or not is to experiment.

Please excuse me if I sounded harsh. It was not intentional.
