Hey guys…just wondering if you know if green onions are ok to feed to bun? I saw onion was on the no list, but does this include green onions? I’m using some in a recipe tomorrow and was thinking, it’d be great to give Boston the white ends, so I don’t waste anything!

        posting a pic for clarification….

Green onions are “green” because they’re pulled before the bulb really has a chance to develop. I’m not a bunny expert (i’ve had one for all of two days) – but I do cook a lot. I would give that a definite no, along with Scallions, Chives and Shallots. But if you can afford to feed your bunny shallots on a regular basis, can I move in?

Ditto – Any kind of onion, green, red, white, leeks and so on are not safe for bunnies as they are toxic to them. I am so glad you asked!

Spring onions are great just for eating

Throw them on a pan whole tossed in a little olive oil and roast them Or, go with our favorite, cut the white ends into rings, and sautee them in a small pan long and slow with a little butter and a little slow. Let e’m caramelize and eat them with a spoon. (or you can put them on top of burgers, tarts, toast…)

Sorry, see, I like food more than bunnies possibly
