Is it ok to feed my rabbit the lettuce from my garden that has gone to seed?  I wouldn’t feed him the seeding part, just the leaves and core. Seeding plants undergo chemical changes that make them bitter to the human taste buds so I wondered if it would have an adverse affect on him.

        Thanks!

welcome here Leanna! i have to tell you, i don’t really know anything about growing veggies. my veggie experience is limited to the automatic misters and the little plastic bags at the supermarket… lol! hopefully someone with more experience in the subject will be along shortly and can give you an answer.

Chopper is a gorgeous little guy! what a precious face… i particularly love gray and white buns!

We’ve fed it to ours with no ill effects that I can tell. Just make sure it’s a nice leafy lettuce, not iceberg. But during the summer ours will regularly get stuff from the garden including things that have gone to seed.

It is O.K. but it can be bitter and also has a few less nutrients because they are being sent to making the seeds.
