Well what I’ve read is products safe for horses are safe for rabbits-
Sounds silly but their systems are incredibly similar-
colic=GI stasis for example. It’s incredibly helpful having a horse shelter as sister shelter to our rabbit shelter as the food/meds are the same for most everything!
Also many many medications are approved for one use and once tested and approved are used for other uses…cannot remember the name of that (Katnip I’m sure you know the word I’m looking for!!) and although clinical tests are not done it’s still safe to use (for example, aspirin used as a blood thinner, it’s really just approved as a pain reliever and it’s an off label use to use as a blood thinner).
Soooo it doesn’t mean it’s not safe to use it off the label. BUT it doesn’t mean it is either…

If your vet spoke to a rabbit specialist I’m sure it’s a good thing to use!
