So, this morning as always, I wake up early to let Daisy out of her pin for her morning play time before I go to work.  She always jumps up in bed with me to give me my morning kisses, but today when she was licking me she was making this really small little grunting noise and she was taking tiny little nibbles and knuding my hand as if she wanted her head scratched and then all of the sudden she tried “having her way” with my arm!!!……  My first instinct was to grab her and flip her over to her back to make sure she didnt turn into a boy over night ( thats how I discovered my first bun was not a girl LOL) So, I put her down and she came back for more, so I jumped out of bed and was running from her but she just kept chasing me trying to get my leg and everytime I thought i got away from her nope! she was right there ( it’s so funny, but then again it’s not) … I don’t know if it goes together but the last two days shes been misbehaving a bit i’ve been finding lots of random poops on the carpet and she never ever poops or pees on the carpet.  I’ve been thinking it’s time to get her spayed but this activity just put it at asap….  Which brings me to my second thing.  Would anybody know of a good Rabbit vet in my area that can spay at a reasonable price? I live in Stockton CA.  I have a vet but he’s just a little pricey for me right now, her regular check-up was about $70 so I can only imagine the cost of her spay, but i’ll call to get a price from them.  i’ve also checked the house rabbit society site but there didnt really seem to be any on there in my area, and i definatly want it done by someone who will take good care of her ( shes my baby) any info would be greatly appreciated thanks everyone

You can call around at  humane societies there. I am sure being in california you can find one with more reasonable prices. I live here in Florida.  I didn’t use my reg vet either.  I went to another vet for 1/2 the price.  She is good vet too.

I am sure someone that lives in calif can give you some info on vets.  Here they are 200.00 or 250.00    So I went to the other vet for 100.00

The stray poops and urinating outside the litterbox is for sure a sign of time to spay.  She is marking.  Ruby’s personality didn’t seem to change Yep the stray poops and urinating outside the litterbox   she is certainly marking.  You are right time for her little girl surgery.

aw silly girl! yes, the best thing is to call different places. you can contact a rabbit rescue near you and see who they recommend, and askif they know of any places that offer low-cost spay/neuter. sometimes it’s worth it to drive further (maybe even up to an hour away) for a lower price, sometimes it’s not worth the time and travel. that’s a decision you’d need to make. spaying my girl in ohio cost me $185 total, not including the initial exam beforehand. i think about $200 is not unreasonable depending on where you live. some areas can get up to $400 and beyond…

Ah yes – the honks of love, I recall those well.

Coco ( now spayed) gave me honks this morning, but then settled in to groom my hand – rather than biting and humping my arm.

I don’t miss the romance with my forearm AT ALL.
