Okay so here is the update.  Moreland is doing great he is no longer extreamly agressive.  I still have issues with holding him, picking him up etc.  i havent been able to clip his nails.  its sad i take him to the vet for that.  i would love to get his butt glands cleaned but if i cant pick him up i cant trance him then i cant cleen his booty.

lately he has taken a liking to attacking the cats.  he runs up and bites their tail and bites them.  the funny part is it doesnt hurt them they look at him like damn you what the heck.  does this show a sign that he will be agressive with another bun? im beginning to think moreland likes his solitude.  he has two cat buddies he bites and the dog which he bites too.  he doesnt seem to like them much.

Heheh he looks so grumpy in that picture!

I have no idea about whether that would mean that he wouldn’t like a bunny friend.  I would tend to think though that a bunny friend would be different then a friend of another species. Like..ok now I might be thinking way outside the box here..

but what if someone brought you a horse or a gorilla and said “here this is going to be your bonded friend for the rest of your life”.  It wouldn’t be the same thing as another human.  A human might have fun playing with a horse or a gorilla but it’s just not going to be the same as if it was another human.  So while he might not have patience for dogs or cats it might be that he’d enjoy the company of another bunny who he can communicate with better.

lol! i think that’s probably pretty accurate TBunz! well put! a rabbit friend is more beneficial to a rabbit b/c they speak the same language. to take TBunz’ analogy a step further, it could also be compared to having a best friend who only speaks spanish (while you speak english). some of the words might be recognizable in either language, but you’ll never have a true conversation, the language barrier is too great.

i wonder if Moreland is trying to exert his dominance over the cats now that he can no longer be dominant over you? if you were to get a bunny friend, dating would be mandatory, and you’d have to find an extremely laid-back bun who might not mind being the submissive one.

i know. there is a house rabbit socitoty local here, when the time comes if i do decide to bond that will take moreland on bunny dates and keep him there for five days and will return him to me bonded. of course i need to do a little more research on their process but think that that might be the way to go. i also have to weigh out the costs etc.

bonding help would be great. it’s not an easy process sometimes. you’d also need to be aware that getting back into his own territory can cause a bump in the bonding process tho…
