so this morning Mike let me sleep a bit later than usual (about 9am).  i woke up to the sound of Max digging cardboard as i’m sure many of us have… and yes i can tell the difference betw/ how Max and Meadow dig…

i’m laying in bed thinking, they only have one small cardboard box in their pen… what is he digging?!

i get up, open my bedroom door and realize that their pen door is open!  they’re not in their pen, Max is in his diggy box, Mead is already chillin’ in the Maze…

me:   yawn… uh honey, who let the bunnies out?  (i’m imagining that they’ve finally figured out how to open the pen door, i know it was only a matter of time…  )

Mike:   i did!  and i FED them, too!

*thump*  <---------  not the bunnies, but rather my jaw hitting the floor!

he not only let them out this morning, but he fed them GREENS!  granted, they were whole heads of romaine, not ripped up, not washed… but seriously, in my book it’s the thought that counts, and he gained major AWESOME HUSBAND points for that one!  i know some of us girls have BFs or hubbys who take responsibility for the buns just like we do… but i think many of us wonder if they’d do a single thing if we did not ask them too… it was very refreshing to see that he had taken the initiative and done something nice for me and our furballs.

he can protest as much as he wants, but i KNOW he loves them…

        oh, and i love him!

Aww awesome!  Mike doesn’t normally feed them because he doesn’t know what all they get but every so often he lets them out.  I’m always pleasantly surprised if I come downstairs to find a Drue in his hallway box house

Most days they don’t come out til 4pm.   We’re working on bun proofing the upstairs more though..and once that is done I’m planning on letting him come up to work with me since he loves hanging out up here.  BUT for now they only come out in the evenings.  Which..they prefer anyway cos that’s when the kids start to mellow out and then the kids go to sleep at about 7pm and that’s their crazy hyper time!

Yes it is nice to see they love the buns.  My hubby will bring home the greens and feed them some. One big happy family  He talks to HB and puts a towel on his head.  HB likes that he really does. When we sit in the kitchen he pets him a little and smiles as we sit on the floor with HB WE enjoy that.

However when Cotton jumps on the couch it scares hubby if he is sitting there.  I had to tell him no he won’t bite you HE wants to sit with me. I usually end  up on the floor with Cotton and Ruby and enjoy that.  I will look over and see hubby smiling too as he watches us.

My bf leaves for work really early (7:30am…lol so not that early) so he gives them a whole lot of food.

It was actually pretty funny cause he never told me and one day I was like “Wow, we’re really going through the salad quickly, I must be giving them too much in the morning”
“You feed them in the morning”
“Of course, morning and night greens”
“But I feed them in the mornings!”

Little devils were coming up to me all eager and hungry looking when I woke up, and I figured they’d not been fed since last night so they must be starving, when all along it was just seconds.

I think men pretend to be not interested in bunnies as much as us because they are so fluffy and adorable. That’s not very masculine traits for a pet I guess. My bf only feeds the buns if I’m not going to be home, I assume mostly because I’m extremely picky about what and how much they eat. He gets confused He always helps when I need to do their nails or a burrito holder.

He pretends he’s totally not interested in them but I catch him in the rabbit room giving them treats and using a cutsy voice.

Cassi, that’s funny! Little Imps! Lucky it wasn’t the pellets or you’d have a pair of plumpys!

C&C lol! My buns have pulled that one on me before… BUT, I was the one who fed them the first time! They just acted so hungry that I started doubting my memory of feeding them and ending up feeding them a second time!

Hahaha! Thats a pretty awesome trick, to be able to convince you that you hadn’t fed them! I mean it’s one thing to convince you that someone else hadn’t fed them, but to be convinced that you hadn’t! Your bunnies are gooood! World class manipulators…little brats! LOL
