i found a home for Checkers!  i think they are going to be awesome.  They have a mom and a dad and two kids, a boy 9 and a girl 4, and an older relative living with them who is home during the day while the parents are at work.  i know the kids are on the young side, but i watched them with her for a good long time yesterday in their home, and they were very patient and gentle with her, giving her a chance to warm up to them, feeding her greens and thing.  She even relaxed and let them all pet her for a few moments before  hopping off to explore again.  And, best of all, the parents have bunny experience as they had a bunny several years ago.

i’m so happy for Checkers.  She’s getting exactly what she needs, which is a home where she’ll be allowed out of the pen most of the time and only penned in at night or when she can’t be supervised, and experienced people she can truly bond with.

Doing a happy dance here!  Cross your fingers that it works out for the long haul.

Thats so important that you feel good about where she is going.  Hurrah she found good people to live with.  I know you are going to miss her.

My hubby is allergic to cats so I had to part with my dear Feda. Oh how I missed her.  I know it is hard but you do feel better knowing that Checkers is going to a good home.

Well, since she was never meant to be *my* bun and was always a foster bun, i’ve been under no delusions. i mean, i love her a great deal and did bond with her, but i know my situation wasn’t the best for her, so i’m just glad i found her a situation that is best for her, and i think these folks are it. Yay!

Also, i was very proud of her. She went around their house for longer than i realized without access to a litter box, and only let two little poos out. When i realized how long it had been, i got some stuff from the car and fixed it up for her, and she immediately hopped in and pooed about 8 poos. i was so proud!

awesome! that is wonderful news! is she over there already or will she be going over soon! you must be very relieved. it’s not easy to find suitable homes for bunnies, so this is very good that you are happy and she is comfortable there…

How cute! And how nice of Checker’s to not immediately try to mark the new people’s house I hope it works out well – I have found that letting people know that you are always available if they have questions or need help with anything really makes them more comfortable with adopting. Also, providing them with some tips like where you buy your hay, your vet etc. will help ensure that Checkers gets everything that he needs!

Great news! It’s hard to let them go, but a good home is a success!
