What an evening…
First I had my very first spa appointment. I was extremely anxious, as I’m shy so meeting new people is hard for me (yes, I *am* a volunteer coordinator
) AND even though to date I’ve never had a problem trancing any bunny, I was just so worried I’d go over there and not be able to do it.
So I get there, and the rabbit was very well taken care of and exceptionally spoiled. Beautiful siamese colored lop.
Never been picked up before.
It was very nerve racking. Bunny was very social but ‘don’t you dare pick me up!” It was interesting…LOL
So yes, I suceeded with no major arteries ripped open! I got all the nails done and the glands cleaned. They said they’d like me to come back. So despite being very nervous I guess I did good! They donated a litter box, a beautiful water bottle and some litterbox liners as well as forty instead of thirty dollars (That’s our second donation-I’m so proud!!)
Then off to the shelter to do the major-weekly-sanitize-everything-cage-clean-extravaganza.
I actually don’t mind it at all, I love giving bunnies a clean home with treats and new toys, and times eight (five are in foster care) is pretty heart warming.
I got a huge seagrass matt and currogated paper from BB so I cut those up and everyone gets a square of grass matt and corrugated paper. I also brought cardboard (I collect all week then bring rolls and boxes out for them). So everyone got a tube, a new cardboard box, seagrass matt and paper, shredded paper, apple sticks (A friend at work brings branches to me from her tree), papaya tablets and carrots. They were all very happy.
Nala didn’t growl much tonight and I spent about half the regular amount of time catching her as usual! Success!! (Although I’m almost really tempted to bond her to another bunny to calm her down maybe…she just is so fearful of people…
getting better but still!)
Then to one of our foster homes to bring mineral oil and medicine for the bunny who possibly has ear mites. And finally home to sanitize myself
and see my own bunnies! I’m sooooo off to bed! Nite!
