  Well Layla has her spay on Friday. I’m pretty confident but nervous at the same time. If it crosses anybody’s mind, think positive thoughts! I’d greatly appreciate it.

  OH my I am nervous too. Tomorrow is Ruby’s and hubby leaves tomorrow early so I can get her to the vets on time. I am nervous about Ruby and about getting there without hubby finding out. He is against spay/neuters. He will be back Saturday nite or Sunday. I hope Sunday. This is making me crazy tonite. He is preparing and I am plotting n planning.

  Good Luck everyone, I know that it is not easy to put your bunnies needs (health needs) before our need to love, protect and nurture them. But that is what makes you guys such great bunny Moms!

  Positive vibes for you and Layla. Do make sure that you insist on some pain meds to take home too…don’t leave the vet’s office without them.

  I’m so sorry about the lack of update. I purposely scheduled the spay when I would be off work for a while (4 days) and I don’t have the internet at home. Layla is doing a lot better. We had to go back to the ER vet on Saturday cause her incision was bleeding but he said that’s just cause she overdid it a little on Friday once the anesthetic wore off. They gave her some meds, glued the open part closed again and she has been doing well. Very angry at me, but well. Ha. I have a picture.
  
  I’ll also add that I haven’t been working much due to the death of a friend who was murdered last week. My internet use should increase again but I do apologize for the worrying! I just needed some R&R and wanted to stay home to take care of Layla, should she need it.

  Glad Layla came thru ok. Hope she continues healing well. Sorry to hear of your friend and what you must be going thru. No one should experience this! Hope you have good support around you and remember, you’ll always have it here at binkybunny.

  Thanks for all of the kind words. There’s a lot of speculation regarding the death, and as friends closer to him have told me, they police are investigating homicide. I don’t find similar news in any of the newspapers, so I’m not sure if that’s wishful thinking since the death was pretty mysterious or not. I guess he’d had a party that night and from what I’ve been told, some people who were either uninvited or whom he did not know showed up and caused trouble. I was told that he went outside to escort them off his property and his body was found by the railroad tracks a block away a few hours later. His arm was severed by a train, but the autopsy revealed that he died to blunt force trauma to the head. It’s hard to say what exactly happened, but I suspect that it wasn’t an accident. And as for his parents, I think they’ll have a really difficult time mourning fully until they know exactly what happened. It seems like we might not ever know though, which is sad.
  
  I worked with him. We weren’t like BEST friends, but I dated a good friend of his for a while and we hung out fairly often until I got my new job a year ago. I last saw him a few months ago while out at a club with some friends. He was such a strong willed kid (sometimes described as not so nice, to be honest) and I’ll be disappointed if they rule it a suicide only because I can’t imagine him ever harming himself. I know from my job that you can’t always tell on the outside but I also know from my job what to look for and it just wasn’t there. Anyway… thanks for the well wishes.   i get it. i’ve lost people i knew who were acquaintances and it does affect you all the same. it’s still someone you knew. there’s always a bit of “that could have been me” mixed in. it’s easier to brush aside when you don’t know the person, but sometimes it hits so much closer to home.
