So, my rabbit, annabelle, HATES being brushed! I brush both of my rabbits with a metal brush and a soft brush. She nips me when i try to brush her and runs away! Help?

Not much you can do about it. Dono digs and nips me when I comb him. What I try to do is distract him with treats. Like a sprig of mint or sage. Something that takes him a while to chew on and I try to go as quickly as possible. I use a towel on my lap when I do this in an attempt to have him not associate my lap with the evil brushing.

i brush on a table or countertop with a towel underneath them. face her away from you, and pet her forehead with one hand if you need to, if that calms her down…

I have had good luck with sitting on the couch and combing my bunnies (like the Hair Buster comb from SaveaBunny).  They don’t stick around for the furminator or zoom groom- but will sit and allow me to comb them.  They usually sit on my lap when we watch TV at night so that is when I get the comb out.  I pet them also when I am combing- to make it a cuddling session.  They seem to like the play time/watch TV time on the couch at night- so maybe that is why they are ok with the gentle combing (even though I do get tufts of hair out).  And they are able to get off my lap- but they prefer to be on my lap or laying next to me.

I have this same problem. I always “trick” my rabbit Frankie into getting brushed by distracting him from the brushing – usually by giving him a head massage at the same time that I brush. Gets him to stay still for at least a couple minutes.
