  It’s a type of postage for mailing packages that are media materials (books, dvds, etc.) It is cheaper than regular package postage.

  it’s also the slowest way of shipping things. I sold something on ebay and the buyer asked me to use media mail for shipping (it was a textbook) and since she didnt get it in like days she filed a complaint against me and got my book and my money. grrr the post office says it can take up to 6 weeks, its really cheap though.

  Cheaper yes, but slower also, right? I think it’s the new name for the old Parcel Post or Book Rate. Up here Third Class mail takes months to arrive.

  WOW Roro what a terrible experience!! I would be so angry-they asked for that shipping method and then ugh!! I’d be quite grrrr about that!!

  wow! i’ve never heard of it taking 6 weeks. anytime i use media mail they always warn that it can take up to one week…
