It’s been a long 2 months since losing our Flopsy and after a long search we finally found what we needed. So after a 4 hour trip (one way) to a bay area shelter last Saturday, we picked up our new furry bundles of joy!

We were supposed to pick up 2 sisters, but the brother and one of the sisters got switched in the cages (they are very close in color pattern). So we ended up with the boy and girl (our vet told us after their initial check-up after we brought them home). We still ove them just the same and he has turned out to be quite the character. Of course, we tried bonding them right away, but one of them was very aggressive. What we thought was a dominate female, ended up being the newly fixed boy with hormones still raging through his system. So anyway, our onding strategy is a little changed and on hold right now.

They are both 9 month old mini-lop siblings and as healthy as any bunny could be. So hopefully they will warm up to us soon (they are already enjoying al the running they get to do) and we will have a lovely big family. Oh and the girl is a tease, she likes to lounge out right in front of the boys cage, poor thing goes nuts.

Anyway, here they are, Marble (brown, female) and Thumper (white/brown, male)

What a lovely pair! I’m glad you have given a home to 2 more. It really does honour Flopsy. Though they can’t replace her, I’m sure you’ll discover they’ll each bring thier own lovable qualities into your home. Congratulations!

I love Marble’s coloring….but Thumper is amazingly handsome….I love his markings.  He reminds me of a Siamese mix cat kinda- with the random beautiful markings.  Well, maybe the “mix up” was not so much human error…but fate making sure you got the 2 bunnies that were meant for you.

Hmmm, Thumper has the look of a real trouble maker – you should watch out.

By the way, what shelter did you pick them up from?

I do believe Thumper will be a bit of a trouble maker. He is the climber and is already trying to get as high as he can. Marble is more shy and loves to dig it seems. Both are now getting into moods of running and will do laps around the living room until the tire themselves out. The pictures don’t do the coloring of their coats justice. We were amazed at the subtle changes of color throughout. They are beautiful bunnies.

We got them from the Rohnert Park animal shelter. Great place and great people (even with the mix-up). We are talking about if the other sister hasn’t been adopted in a couple weeks after these two are settled in that we might go pick her up too.

What beautiful colors. I like Thumpers the best.  He looks like a broken sable.  And your adorable Marble good name.  Looks like this will be one happy family.
