I’ve been searching forever for calendula cream, which was recommended to me by Scarlet Rose for Fiver’s hocks to help keep them soft. I think I found one, but…it’s got a whole lot of other ingredients in it. It IS a organics aisle item, and the label says it contains no animal ingredients, no parabens and no artificial colors and no animal testing.

The brand name is “Kiss My Face” (here’s the website: http://www.kissmyface.com) and I used some on my hands last night to see how well it worked. My hands feel wonderful this morning, but I do wonder if it’s safe to use on Fiver’s feet?

I’d hate to have to list all the contents, it’s a rather long list. But the calendula is about the 13th item from the top.

My vet recommended that for an irritation on Bailey’s ear, but the calendula I have is a gel that had seven ingredients, but calendula was the main and “active” one.  You might be able to find in the first aid section since it’s used for burns, scrapes.

The one I have is by Borion brand – http://www.boironusa.com/products.aspx?prodid=11

Brenda’s days on the board are now on the weekends, but I will let her know about this post as she may be able to help you with this too.

Oh dear. I didn’t look in the first aid, I went to the organics aisle. Oops. 0_o
I’ll look there on Friday, when I have to take Mim & Pip in for their checkups. Thanks Jennifer!

Mimz! Sorry I didn’t see your answer earlier, like BB mentioned I cover weekends now.  You’ll want to find something where the main ingredient is calendula with only a few others (if any) because you want to keep in mind that your rabbit will likely ingest some of it if they lick their feet.  I used the Boiron and have one made by Nelsons (based in the UK) too. I think I forgot to mention that the “common” name for calendula is marigold.  I realize it may be tough for you to find it, so you might want to opt for online purchasing if you really want to give it a try.

My local health food store sells online, but I do not buy from them online, I go to the store so I cannot offer any input on their service from buying online, however they do deliver to AK.  Just FYI, it is a local, family owned place so you won’t see it anywhere else but in Colorado. It’s a total bummer because they have great prices too.

I found calendula oil at a very “hippie” type store where they sell organic/alternative medicines. In addition to selling all kinds of flower oils, they sold candles, healing stones, and those types of items. It was a very fun store I came out with calendula oil, and about 5 things for myself!

Calendula = Marigold? Wow, I had no idea! ^_^ Thanks Rose!

I’ll check out that link. Ooohh, I hope they take Paypal? *crosses fingers*

Lolz, Moo, we have a variety of ‘hippie’ type stores here, but I’ve never seen this cream at any of them. Perhaps they keep it in a dark, secret back room with a guy with a trenchcoat on…giggle….
