        Hi all,

Of course, we would never do that to our bunnies.  But some days, like today…

So the bunnies had to be cooped up for a couple of days in their living enclosure, because we had to clean the house for our first non-family visitors last night.  They were let out tonight.  They went wild.

        There were three resulting casualties:

        (1) Roomba.  It was acting up so I took it apart and pulled out about as much dust from its innards as would fit in its collection bin.  And who came along but Tegan who chewed through two of the wires in a connector strip.  We can solder it together but the soldering pen is nowhere to be found.  However, we have the parts from our older non-functional Roomba and will just replace the whole part in question.

        (2) Laptop power adapter.  It was behind some NIC wires but some clever bunny managed to get past it and destroy it.  I’m on batteries now, fortunately Annette’s mother has a spare, there’s my office one and I can order another and get it legitimately reimbursed.

        (3) Annette’s foot.  When she was calling her mother to ask about the soldering iron etc. from (1) and (2) above, Tegan went over and bit the top of her foot for no reason.

And now she’s calmly grooming herself in the corner, obviously thinking “my work here today is done.”

I’m telling you, there’s something in the air today… my bunnies are nutso today, too! Maybe they’re finally implementing their collective plan to take over the world…

Yeah – I had to come home early because my boyfriend noticed on the webcam in our apartment that the cage was 1 bunny short…a certain black, uppity eared bunny was nowhere to be found…luckily I was finished with class for the day and just puttering away at some work in my office. But still. That’s his second escape, so I’m working on some security measures tonight. Oh – and Wally had also let Roomba loose, but by the time I got home he (Roomba) was stuck on some extra NIC grids on the floor… no real casualties though.

They are weird at my house too….  Cotton has been running from me.  I am trying to give him a blueberry and he runs from me. I chase him around til he stops next to Ruby and hand him his blueberry.  He must have been embarrassed.  Today he ran too. Hmpf go figure

              The little sneaks.

I actually found a piece of wire (very similar to that pictured above!) in the hallway a few wks ago… the thing is…. I can not figure out what it belongs to or where it came from! (Well, besides a bunny mouth obviously)

Something in the air! Maybe it’s the bunny equivalent of a full moon?

                    Yep. It’s a full moon.
I have a tracking gizmo on my google home page that shows the moon phase each day, so I quote:

*thinks of the video Annette posted recently of the Roomba running into the annoyed Tegan*

Hell hath no fury like a bunny who’s been bumped with a Roomba…. 0_o

oh what naughty little bunnies!! My lola has had chances to eat cables when she sneaks into our bedroom but won’t touch them! I still think it’s a trick…

Yeah – Noelle has never chewed on anything she’s not supposed to – even most of the “toys” i bought her to chew on – apple sticks and the like – she wants nothing to do with. I have recently discovered she likes willlow balls – but only the unpeeled ones. So picky! But I do wonder if it’s not a trick and one day she’ll just destroy everything! Mr. Wally though…well, we just won’t talk about his chewing issues. I’ve started trying to do the Dog Whisperer “Shht!” at him when he’s doing something he’s not supposed to. I think he’s starting to catch on…

I do lots of work on my laptop at the coffee table in the living room. This also happens to be bunny play-land.

Lizzy ignores the computer cable. She used to grab the cord to toss it out of the way, but figured out that I shrieked at her whenever she did, and stopped.

Before I even got Robbie, he was chewing my cables in the park.

He has it in for my computer cable. I unplug it whenever he’s out, but he’s a sneaky-beastie, and he manages to make it out and about without making a sound. (When they’re allowed out, I open the pen-door. Sometimes they rush right out. Sometimes they ignore me, and hang out in their pen for hours more before coming out. Lizzy likes to make a grand entrance and announce her presence. Robbie is the stealth rabbit.)

And he doesn’t just toss at the computer cable. He wants it DEAD. So he snuck up on me, and chewed half-way-through it on Thursday. Half-way. I’d wiggle it, and blue-sparks would fly everywhere. I electrical-taped it back together, and looked up how much a new cable would cost. $100.

                                Sigh.

I decided to chance it, and put off buying a new one.

Unfortunately, the BF is even worse about monitoring my sneaky park-bunny than I am, and Robbie had a go at my laptop cable AGAIN yesterday, and slashed it into 3 pieces before the BF could stop him.

Wretched rabbit. He’s cost me more than Lizzy, and he was the freebie-found-critter!

                                He’s lucky Lizzy likes him…

                                J/k

and that my friends (wires) is why I have wood surrounding the girls cages, its just not worth loosing cable lol
