It seems like it’s taken forever to get here, but Nova is really turning out to be a wonderful, loving little bunny. She comes to me when I call her for pets (though I still have to move my hand slowly towards her face for petting). Since she comes to me when I call I no longer need to catch her with a towel in order to transport her places. When I walk into my room she gets up and goes to the front of her cage to watch what I’m doing and see if I’ll let her out. She’s finally chewing on things like a normal rabbit, and loves the toys I ordered from BB! She also goes crazy for the papaya tablets. On top of all that she’s been digging in her litterbox less, which is nice for both of us. I will have pictures up shortly of my actually being able to pet her, and I’ll try to get a viedo of her coming to me when called, though it’s difficult because she tends to always stay by me now. She’s still not a lap rabbit, but I don’t really expect her to ever be since she’s a high strung small breed.

Now what I need to do is work on getting more greens in her diet. I’m starting to grow dandilions, and have romaine lettuce and mint that I will try giving to her (one at a time of course). Are strawberry leaves okay?

Yes – it is a S-L-O-W process. Coco will never be a lap bun – just not her thing, and you may have to accept that Nova might not be either. But Coco DID spend the last hour on my bed begging for nose rubs, and licking my hand in return for good grooming!

I know raspberry leaves are all right for buns, but I am not sure about strawberry leaves. I know you can use them for tea for humans.

Strawberry leaves are ok. My rabbit goes crazy for them but only in moderation. I use them if my bun gets poopy butt. Within half hour of some strawberry leaves he is nice and firm again.

Strawberry leaves are listed, they’re fine!

Glad you and the bunny are bonding now!
