ADEE aka Ashley, do you still come visit here? Wondering what happened to you as you were such a regular. Hope all is well.
I’m wondering too. The last time I saw a post form her was before the hurricanes hit the Gulf Coast. Hope everything is okay!
Ditto that!
You know whom else I haven’t seen post in awhile is Binkles and LagoMorpheus. So if you both are out there, give us a shout if you can!
Oh I’ve seen Sarah about but not Lago. He’s prob off doing something productive – unlike myself!
Your right too re ADEE, it was before hurricanes when she was about. Hope all ok!
Funny you should post this today because I was just about to post to ADEE to check this out:
Bunspace.com is having a Best Bunny Ears contest! Of course, Adee’s Abbie sprung to mind immediately. So if you’re out there, check it out. We’ll vote for you. ![]()
(P.S. No hurricanes have hit South FL so far this year. Cross your fingers – only a month to go.)
i sent her an email about a week ago (?) to see how she was… there was no response.
I have been wondering about her too lately..she posted so often for quite a while and then nothing. I don’t think the storm hit too hard where she was (atleast not as bad as TX got hit) so hopefully everything is ok!!
oh i hope everything is ok with her
and her bunnies ![]()
Oh, me too! She did have a lot on her plate with work and 2 fighting bunnies and a child… I hope the bunnies are getting along and there’s no sad reason she’s been gone… I disappear for a week at a time when work gets hectic, too, so maybe it’s just that?
We miss you Adee! ![]()
I’ve been missing ADEE too. Please let us know you are O.K.!
I haven’t seen Angoragrl post since right after her Lily crossed the Rainbow Bridge.
I hope she is ok as well ? I’ve been wondering how Henri & Acorn are doing !
IM HERE!!!!
Becky, thats so odd.. i didnt get the email from you.
Were fine here, just alot going on with life. My younger son who is 2yrs old got a final diagnosis of Autism among a few other health things and weve been dealing with that. We havnt had any hurricanes thank goodness, the girls are good. Rain is getting fat (lol.. shes on a diet now) and I just dropped Abbie off this morning to get spayed. I had no idea Abbie was in the ear photo contest (is she? lol) ill check it out, if shes not i will for sure enter her! The girls have been getting along great, they are NOT living together right nwo but do spend playtime together especially on the weekends. Otherwise they play individually.
Thanks for thinking of me everyone!
i did also email AngoraGirl. she’s fine, just been busy.
i emailed you thru the email on your profile, maybe it’s not the right one, or it went into “spam? i was just writing to see how you’ve been b/c i hadn’t seen anything from you for awhile. wow, your son has Autism? hmmm. are you needing to do different tests and things with that? does the doctor say he will need some therapy? my thoughts are with your family.
perhaps it did go to spam… so weird! I have gotten emails before through the forum.
His primary ped said “autism” back when he was 17mos old and we left the practice because we simply didnt believe him. Now a year later were revisitng that diagnosis with his neurologist, psychologist, primary, exc.. needless to say were going back to the old dr. He has been evaluated by child find and early intervention and will be getting speech, group and physical therapy. He also has developmental language disorder, familial mediterranean fever (genetic: causes extreme high fevers for days on end, pediatric arthritis, renal problems), ehlers danlos III (hyperextensible more prone to joint dislocation), and a few other “weird” things (a blog on my myspace outlines what everything is). he has always had the diagnosis failure to thrive and developmental delay but now his genetist and the other drs have broken down exactly whats wrong with him. its been scarey but its better then the unknowns we have delt with his entire life. he has spent days-weeks on end in hospitals, has had surgerys to remove his adenoid because of obstructive sleep apnea, tubes put in because of 14 cases of otis media (type of ear infection), colonoscapys, endoscapys, spinal taps, ct scans, gallium scans, feeding tubes, exc. its awful waht hes been through. if you go to my “mspace” i have lots of photos of him in the hospital. http://www.myspace.com/lovelymomma
thanks for keeping us in your thoughts, its been a tough road and certainly not what we signed up for when we chose to have children but we know things could be way worse.
Oh my goodness *HUGS for you and the family* {{ VIBES }}
Thank goodness you’re getting some answers, not knowing is just terrible. Poor little guy sounds like he’s getting every kind of test going! I hope everyone is coping and more *hugs* for you all!!
thanks K&K
ADEE I’m so sorry to hear about your son. I want you to know though that I work with autistic children at one of my jobs and the kids who are diagnosed at ages like 2 and 3 sometimes can make amazing strides with the right type of intensive treatment. Good luck to your family!
I think Jenny McCarthy has a book about it, her son was severely autistic and with therapy and diet they were able to get him to a full recovery.
Hi Ashley, thanks for poking your head in to update us. Obviously you’ve had ALOT on your plate. I’ve also heard, as James said, that the early intervention is key. Hope you have improvements now you can move forward on the right path. I have also heard that diet (low allergy) can have good impact too. No doubt you’ve looked at everything that’s out there about the condition! Best wishes for a smoother road for your family.
I literally read the book “Louder then words” in one sitting, it certainly is moving and spoke volumes for what shes been through with her son and the recovery he has had… Weve looked into a gfcf diet and are making plans to look more into it for we have heard lots of wonderful things about it… in general, not just for people with autism. he is high functioning and we have high hopes that we can pull him out of his delays and bring him up to speed with the early intervention and child find programs.. his case worker has also helped us in finding more programs that are out there for him.
thanks guys!
autism can be a real trial, but (from a teaching perspective) there is nothing more rewarding, i have only worked with 2 autistic children and both of them i would probably put as my best students, im sorry to hear your news though
glad to hear everything is ok with your bunnies! make sure you do enter her for the ears contest i will sure vote!
I am with you kimberleyanddarren, I work with special needs every day and ASD is one of the most rewarding, so much has been discovered…and usally not diagnosed until three you are lucky it was done at two as early intervention is the key.
I will be thinking of you and your family and if u ever need an ear I know you dont know me but I am here
THANKS kim and bummum, your both very kind
I do know he has a great chance of really getting better… the autism is by far the least of our worries. were thankful we delayed vacs for the most part too.
