Wait i think i may answer my own question. Its says radish ROOTS are gassy. Are they refering to the actual radish there?

I know sometimes radish “sprouts” are available for salads, as they give a little peppery kick to the taste – But I don’t know about the greens themselves as a potential veggie offering.

Just looked at the House Rabbit list – Radish Tops are listed as OK. The radish itself is the root. So yes to the top, not so much for the root.

Exactly, you can feed it in small amounts but if the bunny doesn’t tolerate say brussel sprouts or broccoli well then they may not tolerate the radishes themselves.

mine kinda nibbled the tops. i cut a small sliver of the root and they totally snubbed that… every bunny has their own preference…

speaking of roots….I woke up late this morning ( slept in cause I have a cruddy cold.

                      1. wondered why I didn’t have a crazy rabbit jumping on my head asking for salad
                      2. Sat up and looked for Coco
                      3. Saw Coco sitting in her cage near her food spot.
                      4. Put on my glasses so I could see what she was doing.
                      5. Saw her sitting next to a whole beet.

My husband thought he was helping me out, so he grabbed the bag that I brought home from the market. All that was left in the bag was the BOTTOMS of the beets ( which I intended for US Humans, not rabbit – she gets the greens in her salad)

Thats what he gave her. A whole beet – no greens left. Just stem.

She looked horrified. She had not touched the beet, but was sitting next to it looking confused and disgusted.

I got the salad container and took care of her, while removing the offending beet. She accepted the Romaine, parsley, beet green and arugula mix with a mixture of gratitude ( but very slight) and indignation.

Hahah ^^ Somehow judging from the expression in her picture (in your avatar) I don’t have a hard time picturing her disgruntled over a beet!!

that’s hilarious… she was thinking, “what the $#@&! is that doing here?”

So true Beka – except I suspect it was even spicier language than that.

Do you mean one of those big beats? Nice of hubby to help but, poor Coco!

My little critters Daikon radishes – they are the large white mild Japanese radishes. but they don’t seem to care for red radishes.
