holy cow..I had no idea a relatively small animal could let loose SO MUCH HAIR!! Dallas is going through his 6 month old moult and goodness gracious, I can pull clumps off hair off his head and it is like it’s never ending. Besides gawking at how much hair is rubbed on my carpet in one day, I actually wanted to know how long he would go through this? Poor guy looks……………..awkward. He has a really pretty silvery, I THINK Agouti, coat, so he’s got this weird marbling all over his body and face right now. How much longer before he goes back to his pretty smooth silver coat?!

Well for color, it could change permanently. During a major molt you can even see bald spots (ick!). I’m selfish but I think the worst part of molting is not being able to eat or drink anything without the added fibre(hair! ) I found my major molts were about a month or so….
