Awe poor HB.  I examined his whole leg.  I discovered that the elbow joint the one closeset to his shoulder is the spot where the twist occurs. I tried gentle pressure to straighten it and it resisted.  So that must be where the break occured. The other leg was fine.

That explains his funny gait and when I hold him he puts the left shoulder on me and turns his head in. He is trying to get his right leg comfy since it is turned in like that.

Took me all this time to discover it. He nearly always has his head down for pets. Or is lying down all stretched out. How long have I had him 2 months.

OH I will try 1/2 an aspirin tomorrow when I am going to be home to observe and see if he becomes more active. If so them I will know he is in pain and contact the vet about what to do for him.  Well meds wise.  I don’t want to put him thru the pain of another break and rehealing. Poor fellow.  I wonder how long it had been like that and if the previous owner had it in a splint and it just healed funny or if it was left that way to heal on it’s own.

He is 3 years old so no telling.

Poor bunny! Yeah, I’m not sure I would give him aspirin either – it would be hard to dose something like this even if it was okay (and I’m not saying it is). Considering that a person dosage is a full tablet, it would be MUCH less for a small rabbit.

Do let us know what the vet says.

Aspirin is very hard on the stomach and can make humans and dogs sick from taking it.  I would ask your vet before giving him any- you don’t want to set off a GI upset epsiode.

Aspirin is basically a form of acid- and that is why some humans and pets don’t tolerate it well.

You know it might just be a pigeon toe. His other leg resist me turning it out too. And it does go a little out on it’s on. Well best to have vet check him out.  The aspirin yes we can give but must be very careful with it.  I have not done it cause I have not been home all day to observe him. HE seems fine.  He jumps and runs when he wants to I tell you. The big lug.
