Oh this is funny! I am taking care of my friends cat for a few days for the next 2 weeks, cuz the kitty is sick. For the whole story refer to https://binkybunny.com/FORUM/tabid/54/forumid/6/postid/72058/view/topic/Default.aspx

Anyways, Spaz (cat) wants nothing to do w/ Boston (bunny). No interest, whatsoever. Boston on the other hand would give up a month’s worth of brussel sprouts to be able to just SNIF Spaz, just ONCE. Spaz is hurting poor little Boston’s feelings cuz she runs away whenever Boston gets close. Ah, poor bunny! She’s hiding and pouting right now. I gave her a treat for being such a good little girl and sharing her space w/ the big Scaredy-Cat!

Question—its very important to keep Spaz hydrated right now, cuz she’s sick. Is it safe to leave a couple water dishes out for her? Will  it hurt the two animals if they end up drinking out of the same dishes? I really can’t separate them, we just don’t have that space option. The only way I could is by buying baby gates and I am POOR!!!

One other thing—how do you get a cat, who feels well enough to run around and jump and play to EAT?! So if she won’t eat, how do you get her to stay still and not run around so you can force feed her?  This is a little more frustrating than I expected!

Poor Boston – just wants to snuggle.

When my cats would not eat – I would tempt them with Tuna! it always worked.
Unless, of course, the vet said not too give Spaz Tuna.

          Good Luck!

Yup-tastier food thats how you get them to eat. You could also add a splash of milk to her water to encourage her to drink more!

She has said no to: regular food, wet food, special diet food, all kitty treats, beef jerkey, and even tuna. she took a sniff at boston’s pellets but said no to those too….sigh.

another friend is coming over tonight to help hold Spaz so I can force feed her some food and water.

                Just had to add:

I’m sitting here on the couch, laptop on my lap. Spaz is 2 cushions away, just chillin. And up jumps Boston right in between me and Spaz. Its not uncommon for boston to come up for pets while i’m surfing the net. so i’m petting away and out of NO WHERE boston suddenly realizes that spaz is up here too! so boston hops on over to try the sniffing thing again. Spaz let boston get right up to her face and then spaz gave the most disgusted look i’ve ever seen! like “get this wretched looking overgrown hamster out of my face!” boston apparently got the memo, and immediately jumped off the couch. spaz is now back to relaxing 2 cushions down from me…

                priceless…..of  course the camera wasn’t ready…
