Drue and Tucker are home! Hooray! What a trip! It was a long trip and I am glad Tucker didn’t have to go with us. I have to say though, next time we go away we’ll have to find a better sitter. My dad didn’t do such a great job. He never gave her ANY of her salads, didn’t clean up her stray poops, and she didn’t get her papaya either. Luckily besides being a bit grouchy when I first picked her up she seems no worse for the where. She’s now happily running around the office and kitchen and hasn’t growled at me since she’s gotten home.
Drue seems to be of the “eh whatever” frame of mind. Nothing seems to put Drue in a bad mood! He happily played and nommed on his willow ball during the ride and lounged out with eeyore. Eeyore is now his friend since Tucker has taken more of a liking to the brown rabbit toy. Drue stayed in the bath tub at the hotel last night with the carrier acting as his litter box. However, Drue had other ideas for a litter box. He’s resourceful! He took out all the newspaper from the carrier and dragged it over by the drain. He then used that as his litter box all night lol. He let me hold him for a few minutes before hopping back in. I gated off the whole bathroom thinking he’d surely hop out of the bath tub..but he didn’t. He also hasn’t ventured to any of his levels in his new condo. I think maybe he’s not used to levels. He was kept in a puppy cage like they have at shelters..like the kind cats have. He has been in there for the last three months so I don’t think he’s used to jumping..he’ll get used to it!
He just got up..he was lounging all flopped out in his new home. It didn’t take him long to make himself right at home!! He LOVES his straw mats and thinks those are just the best thing in the whole wide world. He’s really friendly and doesn’t run from me if I try to pet him. Right now I have a small penned in area attached to his condo in case he ventures down there and wants to check it out. Tucker’s got the big run right now. Later tonight I’ll have to figure out how to make them both bigger areas..it’s just a matter of configuring the grids I think.
I’m not sure if they’ve noticed each other yet. Drue probably doesn’t care because he’s used to other rabbits being near him but Tucker isn’t…so it’ll be interesting to see how they react to each other.
I’m so happy they’re both home and getting settled. I missed having my tucker bunny around!!
I’ll have some pictures later
