so I’m having an halloween party this year, and I live in a 1 and a half appartment, it’s pretty big, but the no-other-room kinda take the “put the rabbit in an other room so he won’t be bothered option. So, what can I do to make it easier on my bun? I was thinking it’d probably be better if I left him in his cage since he might get shy arround all the new people, and perhaps covering it or something? Or will that make him more stressed? I’m probably going to put his wooden house\tunel in it so he has a tinier place to squeeze in if he wants to be cozy.

anything else I could do? He doesn’t seem to be bothered to much by noise..exept sudenly broken glass, though for the sake of the nabors, noise probably won’t be at it’s loundest anyway. anything else I should worry about?

How is he tempermentally normally? Kokanee loved parties and would run around and visit everyone. Rupert hides. Kahlua hides and stomps!

If he’s more nervous/gentle, I’d put him in a seperate room, low lighting, half the cage covered in a sheet, extra veggies, and something for white noise like a fan or nature CD.

If he’s a boisterous playful diva bunny, I’d set him up so I *could* do that ^^ if needed but I’d let him out to visit and see if he liked it

The other thing is to worry about the guests. IF you have a lot of people, they may not see the bun underfoot and it only takes one misstep to SERIOUSLY injure a bun. I’m not sure how big his cage is but you’ll want a part of it so that he can hide and no one can see him. I have an upside down cardboard box with holes in it in the bun condo so they can hop into that to hide from me.

That has always been my biggest scare.  Buns underfoot and stepped on. When hubby came back I had Cotton and was scared he would get stepped on. Tho he stays out of our feet (unless I have treats) and hubby is real careful. So it has been ok.

With a room full of people I would panic.

lol well, to me it’s somwhere between 10 to 15 people, but my bun’s favorite game is running into my legs… so I had little intentions of letting him loose unless it’d help him… and accuallly, I learned yesterday that my curious, care free running arround and scheming evil plan bunny….is shy! We had a couple of friends over and he would barely walk out of his cage! That was a suprise for me, of course, he eased out pretty quickly when I gave one of my friend a small apple piece to feed him

Ah, and speaking of feeding – put a sign up on his cage that says “Don’t feed me”. Party goers, just trying to be friendly, may offer pieces of what they are snacking on.

Since he does seem to be a bit shy around just a few friends, he might be a little freaked out by 15. Can you put him in your bedroom, and put a sign up that says do not enter, and just explain to people.
