Ive been a bad bunny slave. Hammer hadnt been out but for about an hour this morning and its 11pm now. He was banging and rattling the cage all day and i felt really bad but i was so busy. Well i finally let him out and sat down on my bed to do some homework. Hammer was displeased with not having my full attention and began to bump my foot over and over again lol. Id reach over and offer small pets and rubs but he refused lol, he wanted me to come down to play i guess. So i went back to my work. The next thing i know Hammer thupmed REALLY loud and made a flying jump up onto my bed lol. He then wasted no time and stuck his nose directly in my hand, waiting for pets lol. It was so cute! like one swift move he was up and getting pets lol. He had never been on my bed before, i wasnt sure if that would be a good idea. He is excitingly running around the room jumping on and off the bed. I guess he thaught me, he will get what he wants when he wants it! Whose bunnys are allowed on the bed? Should i get him to stop now? It surprised me.. he never was a jumper.
He apparently gained a lot of confidence from this whole thing. He just tried to jump onto the windsill! he fell of course, he is fine though. He would have made it if there was more of a ledge on those things. Thank goodness the window was closed! ill have to remember that for future playtimes lol
boston doesnt have access to the bedrooms, but we let her jump on the couch as much as she wants, as long as we are on it. if she jumps when we’re not on it, we just say ‘boston down!’ and down she goes!
the only reason we restrict her is because she can get from the couch to the table to the plants, which is bad. so i think as long as you are on the bed, it should be okay.
Thanks! ive just seen so many post about peeing on pillows and beds i didnt know if thats normal or just a behavior thing when bunny slaves act up lol
I cannot leave Mimzy on the bed because he will inevitably need to go potty and if I don’t put him in his litterbox in time I have a mess to clean up.
Pip is okay there, she just sits and lets me pet her. Not a big explorer of the world of pillows and plushies.
Fiver however considers the bed his domain and has snapped at Mimzy twice for being up there; once when I thought he and Mimzy could mingle (WRONG!) and once when he was still locked in his pen. As you can see from the pix I posted yesterday, Fiver loves the bed and does his binkies just so that he does not fall, and then lays down for a quick snooze. Then the minute he thinks my hand is in the treat bag he is on my lap and begging for noms.
I’m just waiting for the day he launches off and finds himself on the floor, that will be bad because there is so much junk in my tiny room. I may not find him for a week!
But so far I have not had a problem with him wetting the bed or marking it. He is perfectly trained and certainly not by me. The people who had him before must’ve trained him.
Dave will not tolerate bunnies on the bed, they don’t really have an interest in being up there (of course, unless we are sleeping in the bed, then it’s game on!! ) but I do sneak them in there for cuddles sometimes ![]()
Ok well i guess its not a problem as long as he continues to be a good bun. This is good because now i dont have to sit on the floor as much, If a sit on the bed for awhile he can always come up to see me. plus now i dont have to be in his bunny 500 track all the time lol he has tripped over me quite a few times lol
Lizzy’s fine on my bed. She is NOT fine on the BF’s bed, because it smells like other bunny. Then the pristine-princess becomes a terrible marking BRAT!
Robbie’s never seen a bed. But he LOVES the couch. Which Lizzy refuses to go anywhere near. I have a feeling that if she ever got the guts to jump on it, I’d have a problem.
I think it depends on the bun. Just keep an eye on him when he starts to get hormonal, when he may decide to claim your bed out from under you!
Mimzmum you crack me up!!!
“begging for noms”
!!!!!
I am afraid Ruby would pee on it. Cotton used to pee on it when I let him sleep with me so thats out. The only bun can come up is Honey Bun. And not often cause of his weird shedding off n on.
I’ve never thought about NOT letting Layla on my bed. She lies next to me at night and gets pets while I read. She’s never been naughty in any way on my bed.
We moved a couple of weeks ago.
Pepper sleeps under my bed, and sometimes comes up to visit during the night.
And sometimes during the day too, apparently. I found nibble-marks on my LUSH massage bar on the headboard.
But she has always had impeccable litter habits.
be careful he doesnt pee on your bed! maybe put an old throw on it or a shower curtain or something? dont want your sheets to be ruined
He is actually been great so far. Ill watch for moody days and hormones that might change his mind about the bed not being a litter box. So far he has only left one little poo on the bed
If I could find a garbage bag big enuf to put over the bed I would probably do it.
Yes I stick garbage bags or plastic zip lock on the couch and to put my remote control in. The couch cotton peed on the remote he chewed on.
Hehehe. Look out at my house. I am like the commercial everything covered in plastic. I think it was a vac commercial hehee.
Stormy land Oliva love to binky on and off the bed. When I let Bindi in the bedroom and I’m sitting on the bed reading or with my laptop he will sit on my pillow beside me and just hang out. He loves to just “hang out”.
If I am worried about one of the bunnies wetting the bed (the bunny bb’s don’t bother me since they are dry and limited to one or two) I just put a large garbage bag on the bed and then put a bath towel over that. Then if there’s an accident, hopefully it doesn’t go right through to the mattress.
I have found that the Nature’s Miracle does VERY well to eliminate territorial marking smell. Just in case. ![]()
I totally agree to the Nature’s miracle mimz!!!
i’ve been known to use it to spray out the cage and litter box too when i clean
Sounds like ill have to look into that Natures Miracle stuff. No problems so far but it cant hurt to be prepared
I think it’s a great idea to let you bun jump around on your bed especially if it’s as cute as this one: (I couldn’t resist!!)
