So today I left for class and work and I decided to not put Felony back into his cage. He’s littertrained, and he hasn’t destroyed my apartment in the almost 2 years he’s been here.

So I came home from class and I was in complete shock. I still had all of my base boards. The tv stand hadn’t been chewed to nothing. My carpet hadn’t been ripped up.  It was amazing, Felony was perfectly behaved for the 8 hours I was gone. I’m so proud of him!

How many of you let your buns out alone all day?

Many do. I wish I could trust Maryann. Eventhough her destruction has been very localized, I fear that leaving her alone without supervision would result in destruction to either my property or my preson.

            Hahaha, Markusdark.

My bunny Charlie used to be freerange but now he’s bonded to a destructive monster so they’re both now caged. The only thing I really had to look out for was when he was mad at me, because then & only then he would do something. It’s a learning curve, you’ll probably find something he gets into but mostly I never had trouble with Charlie.

Coco is free range, although we have spells where I have to out think her and bunny proof more than may be typical (?)

She does seem to have some phases where she seems hell bent on finding something to destroy, but I would rather out think her than deal with the fury that is Coco-Caged!!

(I used a movie voice in my head right there)

Mine seem perfectly content to laze about and do nothing while I’m gone. So I figure they might as well laze about in their pens, rather than behind my sofa, where I would then have to rout them and clean up after them, later!

some people can do it, some can’t. mine are free-range during the day. it’ve very rare for them to be penned up during the day. the worst that would happen is they are baby-gated in the bunny room (which is about 10×12 feet) if i’m doing something somewhere in the house where i can’t have them underfoot. i will often leave to run errands during the day and they’re not confined.

i do find however, that they will soemtiems choose to sleep in their pen anyways, even with the door open. they are lazy buns during the afternoon.

Mine is free range and I do sometimes leave her about in the house if I’m going out for an hour or so. Usually I shut a few doors though. She’ll often be napping in the same spot that she was when I left. Enjoying the peace and quiet probably. I have on occasion let her stay in the main part of house overnight instead of putting her in her ‘room’ with no destruction occurring. She seems to only get destructive when I’m there to see it! Like she’s trying to tell me something!
