Thank you guys so much for your information and support.

I have looked up different options and I definetly wanted to try the new bead method where they implant “antibiotic filled beads” into her jaw, but i found out it is bwteeen $800-$1000, which is not feasible for us, especially since there is no guarantee that it won’t come back in a few months..  It would be the best route for her, but we can’t do it at this time (financially)

There is also a way where the wound will basically be left open so that it heals over the hole (like a piercing in your ears) and you could clean it and apply these special honey-packs, but i am very squeemish and i would have to do it all the time, which also doesn’t sound like the greatest answer for “any-bunny”.

Sooo, i rescheduled the regular surgery where the vet will try to take out the absess and shave some of her jaw off.  poor thing   i hope it works, at least for a year and i will be happy.

Please say a prayer for Chewy— we rescheduled her surgery for the 29th.

        Gina

Poor baby! (((((((((( HEALING VIBES FOR CHEWY ))))))). I am not squeemish, especially when it comes to my babies…but the thought of having to wrangle my Shadow every day to clean his wounds is enough to give me the heebie jeebies. It takes weeks for him to forgive me trying to clip toe nails.

The surgery sounds like it will buy you enough time to build and emergency fund to go for the antibiotic beads if the need comes up. We will keep the both of you in our thoughts.
