yea they really do have alot there! And that is why I’m adding a second bun earlier then expected.  First of all I LOVE lops and I don’t ever see any around here and second that animal control shelter is really overbooked.  They’re in desperate need of fosters, adopters because they just keep getting rabbits in! And Drue has been there atleast since the beginning of August, that was the first I heard of him being there.  So….hopefully all goes well and we can give him his forever home!!  

And yes, Tucker is a girl   She’ll be unspayed for a month after we would bring him home but we’d keep them separated at first anyway to give us a chance to get to know Drue and then once she is spayed and recuperated we would start the bonding process  

Yea I love his ears lol.  I am thinking that other people don’t though since I think he’s the last bunny of his litter that is still at the rescue!!  The other ones ears all went down but his are still up.  I think it gives him character!

LOL I really hope so too!! I am keeping my fingers crossed..I’m not sure how adoptions work with bunnies but I am wondering if they will hold him until I can get there ( a week from Monday) or if it’s a wait and see if he is still there type thing.  Heck I’ll even overnight them a money order for his adoption fee if they will hold him!!!!!  I have had my eye on Drue since his brothers were there and he was always the one I wanted and I can’t believe noone else was overcome with awe over his cute little ears!!! 

squeee!! We’re one step closer! I just got an email back and she said our application sounds wonderful and to go ahead and start preparing for him!  I am trying not to get my hopes up too much just yet because since we’ll only be in MD in passing on the way up and the way down I want to make sure that one of the times we’ll be in the area will work out ok! But it is so hard NOT to be excited because I have been watching and wanting him for almost two months now and I’m so close to actually having him be mine!

LOL yes I am hoping that she wants a boyfriend.  If not I guess he’ll just be the cute bunny next door hehe.   I have never seen Tucker around another rabbit but I know she loves the cats so I am hoping it’ll be similiar.  She’ll have some time to get used to him from afar though..about two months time since she won’t be spayed til next month and then a month of letting the hormones die down. 

Maybe Lizzy’s just not into the “bad boys” and sees Robbie as a “bun from the streets” maybe once she gets used to his new clean cut lifestyle she’ll warm up

Yep, I’ve talked to her more and it looks like they’re putting him as pending.  She’s going to call me tomorrow to work out details and do the phone interview but everything looks good to go!

They’re going to have me go in Saturday AM and process the adoption and then they’ll have a foster take him home Monday so that when I get there after hours Monday it won’t be a problem since he’ll be at her house.  And they don’t open til 10am normally on Saturdays but they said that they usually have a volunteer there as early as 7:30-8am so that would work out perfect . 

I’m definitely hoping that his laid backness helps the bonding process go smoothly.  Tucker is really laid back with other animals so I am hoping she’s the same around buns.  Drue is used to being around other buns so hopefully it goes smoothly.  Even if it doesn’t luckily with working at home I have the time to spend with them making sure it all goes smoothly

Oh I am so excited! I don’t know how I’m going to be able to sleep for the next week!!

LOL sounds about right!  We ladies always seem to go for the bad boys! Except my husband lol he’s the goody two shoes type..but that’s probably why it took me a YEAR to give him the time of day and not think he was some kind of crazy person.  No not crazy…just nice lol.

Tonight I start construction on his new bunny condo!  Tucker’s gonna be thinking “what the heck is she doing if I am not allowed up there???” heheh.

What is going to be hard is that since I am going there on Saturday to process the adoption I’ll get to see him but then I’ll have to leave him there until Monday night   THAT is going to be a long weekend!  I feel better now though lol.  I’ve got the condo up so I’m prepared for him.  Last night I just kept thinking of ways to make the condo work and everything and worrying that I didn’t have enough stuff and was I cutting things too close before pay day yadda yadda.  But happily things are all up..look fabulous, I even have a litter box in there, some toys that we had duplicates of and he is all ready to come home!  Now I just have to wait wait wait. 

Well almost ready..I don’t have a hidey hole for him yet..but I will be going to sam’s club and picking him out a box that I can make into a house for him that way it’s hidey hole and chew toy all in one

I got to meet Drue today!  I filled out all the adoption paperwork so now we’re all set!  We pick him up Monday night on our way back down to NC.  I’m in NJ now and Oh my god! This weekend can not go by quick enough!!!!! I loved petting my sweet Drue and can’t wait to bring him home.  He’s so sweet.  He reminds me so much of the lop Ziggy that I had as a kid.  He did thump a few times..wow is that ever loud!  Much different then Tucker’s thumps.  His new name is Sir Drue of Thumperton.  This is going to be a lonnnggggg weekend.
