So i was planning on getting the watership down book because everyone has been saying how good it is and i wanted to buy it however i am really confused, there are about 100 different copies available on amazon, which is the original or which is the best copy of the book? There is one which looks more beatrix potter style? Just wondering what copy you have and which is the best one.

        Thanks Guys!

You should watch the movie… Very graphic… Very- non childish movie.

Violent Bunny rabbit movie 0_0 I did not think it was possible, I did like the movie though.

This is the one I have….

            http://www.amazon.com/Watership-Down-Novel-Richard-Adams/dp/0743277708/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1220661922&sr=8-1

So long as it’s written by Richard Adams, I don’t think the cover actually matters.

But please know, even though there is an animated movie about it, it is NOT a childrens book – it is very much for adults.  Death, tragedy, sorrow and happiness are all inside, but sometimes, especially if you love rabbits, it can be a hard read.  But it is a fantastic and fascinating book.  The bunny characters are wonderful, they speak their own bunny language, they tell tales, learn lessons, love and hate – it’s like really living amongst a warren of rabbits!

I still haven’t read it, just because I am sure I won’t be able to read many sad parts about bunnies.

I used to sell it in bookstores – it’s a classic – and the version that has been around as long as I’ve heard of it is the Mass Market Paperback.

http://www.amazon.com/Watership-Down-Richard-Adams/dp/0380002930/ref=ed_oe_p  The copyright on this one is 1972, which I believe is when it came out.
