Tell me about it. Now that my state’s Governor is tapped for the position of VP, it’s all over the news how we are getting a ‘stimulus check’ for helping with our heating bills this year from our state coffers. But what do you want to bet, a good deal of it will be going to ‘fuel surcharges’…which essentially means we pay for the gas that gets our heating oil out to us from wherever they ship it. It’s not just the heating fuel we need help with, it’s the everyday cost of living that is going up exponentially because of the stupid out of sight gas prices we are seeing in our county, and in countries all over the world!

Isn’t it amazing how, when things are already outrageously expensive, that suddenly these companies come up with all these extra ‘administrative’ and ‘functional’ charges to make sure they keep getting money from you? Even our phone company wants to charge us for the gas they use to come out on a call and it’s a monthly thing that they bleed from you whether you’re using the service or not!

*grr* Shall I pass out the torches and pitchforks, K&K?

I thought of you immediately tonight when I heard about the selection of your state’s Gov. for running mate.

In the US (I’ve done this in Massachusetts) you can contact the state’s Attorney General’s office for a consumer complaint department. The really do investigate complaints, and if you are due a correction of some kind, they can make it happen. It worked for me.
Contact your gov’t. online office and see if you have a similar service. I bet you do.

K&K, did they put you on the budget plan for heat? You know where they charge you some during the summer months and it kind of banks in your account so that your winter bills aren’t as high?

your heating isnt split over the 12 months? we capped our energy bills so now we pay the same price even if costs go up, and we pay the same amount every month even in winter, so its shared out throughout the year, but yes that does sound like a right rip off, i would complain.
