Can you believe this???
washingtondc.craigslist.org/nva/pet/815526416.html
I have two young pure bred English Lop rabbits that I would like to find a good home for because we are moving out of the country. They are male and female and are both fixed. The are large rabbits! They love eachother very much so they must stay together. They come with food, 2 large (very nice) cages although they stay in the same cage, dishes, water bottle, hay holder, litter box, toys, shampoo, and other accessories. They are very sweet rabbits and they love people. They will only go to a home with the time and space for them as they need ample time out of their cage to run about. Rabbits do not make good childrens pets and these two will only go to an experienced bunny home. They must also be kept indoors as house bunnies. If you think you are the right home for these two love-buns, please e-mail me! There is an adoption fee. Pictures available upon request. Serious inquiries only! Thank you.
WOW! Now that is something that you sure don’t see everyday!
I just emailed them and said that if a quarentine period was the reason they had to rehome their bunnies I’d be happy to foster them for however long they need it and help with transport arrangements. I can’t imagine anyone easily parting with two FIXED EL’s.
*smacks TARM’s hand away from her Craigslist bookmark* Hogeeze, woman, stop it! *cries* You’re killing me here with all these posts when you said you’d stop looking! ^_^ j/k
I wish there was a picture, wouldn’t a piccy help get someone motivated to adopt them? I notice so many people don’t bother.
Yeah you have to wonder what goes through a person’s mind….
If you’re not stable in the country, (say you’re military and KNOW you’re going to get re-stationed all the time) why do you pick up pets like this? Do they have no idea how it stresses the bunnies to have to uproot them and send them to someone else?
I just don’t understand stuff like this. ;_;
Owner sounds awesome…..ARG!!!!!! I wanna um I wanna um!! T&R if you foster them I am coming over to see them!! I might just have to “borrow” them…..
I heard back from the owners and they are going to seriously consider my offer to foster. The boy bun is special needs so they’re being super careful about who responds to the ad. And…as a bonus…I got a picture. :0) Get ready to melt into a puddle of goo.

Oh. My. God.
I would cancel my plans to move if I couldn’t bring those two!
they are the sweetests little lops ever shh dont tell Oreo I said that![]()
Well, this isn’t too unusual really – in fact it’s extremely usual – I hope they take you up on the offer though.
They do sound like they are trying to find good homes for them though and it’s great that they are altered. Did she say why the male was special needs?
The male needs a special diet to keep wieght on and he has partial paralysis of the hind end. This family moves frequently because of the husband’s job and they always take their animals with them. She said it got “tricky” with the rabbits but she didn’t get into what the “tricky” part was.
You should put her on to the disabled rabbits mailing list on Yahoo, she may be able to rehome through them especially if one is special neesds ![]()
What’s that link K&K?
aw no! they are gorgeous! at least she wont give them to just anyone
I wonder what his paralysis is from. Did she say how old they were?
wow, they are gorgeous………………..
I understand about the military part, I’m an Air Force brat that moved all the time and we never had a pet (hard enough moving 5 small kids around). If you love animals, it is a sad way to spend your childhood, envying all the other kids their cats, dogs, even the small animals.
Probably explains why I have a houseful of varmits today!
Kathy
HOLY MOLY!!! *faints*!! They are gorgeous!!! Hmmm I could foster them part time too….You have to share T&R…….jk….sorta…..hehe!
keep us posted!
They are GORGEOUS buns!!!!!! I hope their owner doesn’t have to part with them.
omg they are beautiful EL’s!!!! Was there any kind of resolution on this yet?
No, not yet. :0(
They look SO SOFT!!!
Wow! 0_0 More beautiful than I even expected!
Yes, I would guess military kids would wish to have pets. But my husky was owned by a military family, and they weren’t the responsible type of folks…just kept letting the female get pregnant and then they’d have to keep giving away the pups when they were relocated.
But not everyone is like that, I know. *nods*
These people do seem to be doing their utmost to find homes for these bunnies. Gosh I wish I could take them, they are gorgeous!
Very nice of you to help out, TARM
Who’s being nice? That offer is the product of greed on my part. I can’t keep those rabbits forever but I sure can make room for a long term temporary stay.
the white one looks like it either has blue or black eyes ((faints)) i would be kicking their door in if i knew their location hahaha
Hehehe…ulterior motives, eh? I like it! ^_^
Yes, the white one is beautiful! No matter the eye color. I have actually been wanting a lop eared white rabbit for awhile, but now I have my three, that’s the limit.
for now mimzmum
lol
No seriously. I have my hands full…really! ![]()
u keep telling urself that hun hehe ![]()
Hey, you don’t have to put up with the ‘evil eye’ I get from the hubby anytime I just mention going into Petco now. *withers*
hehe, i know i too get that look, especially because the pet store i go to is like a 40min drive so he is like 😐 especially when i just wanna go for no reason when we dont need anything, i just wanna go look at the fish and bunnies and cockatiels and they have the most amazing parrot who tells u to f*ck off when you walk by haha
Did you every hear back from them?
Nope, never heard back. I hope they either found a spectacular home or figured out how to take them.
The only drawback to the net, one never knows what happens to some people and their bunnies.
I hope they are okay.
I just don’t know about people who teach parrots swear words. It’s funny at first and then, well, then it’s not.
I remember the parrot at my sis-in-law’s first boyfriend’s place…the one they named Boomer. You were wise to never ask why they called him that. ^_^ He was LOUD. 0_o
yeah its more shocking than funny i think, especially in a pet store where there are little kids around, i think its an awesome idea when people teach them their phone number though
