=P Oi, lol. Tropical Storms/ Depressions and even minimal hurricanes aren’t a big deal for us at all. It’s just kind of…life. Like the small earthquakes you guys get sometimes -minor inconveniences, but scare away the tourists! (Thank God..)
Granted, Faye was a bit weird in that it just stayed idle forever and dumped torrents of rain in the same place. =/ Fortunately, the entire thing broke up when it hit my area. Which is not…uncommon. (We live in an area known casually as the ‘Destin Dome’. I kid you not -due to some unique geographical features, storms literally avoid us and/ or completely break up on contact…strangest thing.)
But anyway, just so everyone who is not accustomed to Tropical systems knows, Tropical Storms/ Depressions are pretty much akin to your average bad winter (non-snow) storm -lots of rain and wind, but in the end, pretty harmless. Cat 1 Hurricanes are a little more serious, but not that much. Cat 2 Hurricanes are a little worse than that, nothing to toy around with for sure, but nothing (usually) to warrant an evacuation. Cat 3 and higher…watch out!
