So in the earlier thread, “You know you’re obsessed when…” some of us discussed some silly songs we’d sing to our bunnies that we’d tweaked the lyrics to.
I was asked by my daughter if I was going to put one together for Fiver, as I’ve done so for Mimzy and Pip. So since recently discovering a radio program called “Doug Stephan’s Good Day” and having to hear Monty Python’s “I Like Chinese” every time they reported on the Olympics…I had the tune going through my head and now here’s the words I’ve come up with so far.
(This part I left alone)
The world today seems absolutely crackers,
With nuclear bombs to blow us all sky high.
There’s fools and idiots sitting on the trigger.
It’s depressing and it’s senseless, and that’s why…
[singing]
I like Bunn-ies.
I like Bunn-ies.
They hardly come up to your knees,
Yet they’re always friendly, and they’re ready to please.
I like Bunn-ies.
I like Bunn-ies.
There’s nine hundred gazillion of them in the world today.
You’d better learn to like them; that’s what I say.
I like Bunn-ies.
I like Bunn-ies.
They can’t eat a burger topped with cheese,
But they’re cute and they’re cuddly, and they’re ready to please.
I serve Bunnies food.
So my furniture won’t ever get chewed.
There are so many things I have to buy to impress.
Organic Carrots, and Romaine, and fine Watercress.
I like Bunn-ies.
I like Bunnn-ies.
They’re going to bring us to our knees,
With their binkies, their stink eyes and their lagomorph-ese.
Mind, I’m probably NOT going to sing this to Fiver…but I just thought I ‘d share. And I can’t get past the verses about Darwin, so if anyone has ideas they’d like to share to complete the song, fire away!
