I’ve seen conflicting reports that peaches are toxic to bunnies, along with all single-seed fruits. Is this true? I checked the house rabbit society page and they were included as a safe fruit. However I have seen other sources stating the opposite. I’m concerned because I normally give layla a small chunk of fruit before I go to bed at night (either a grape, melon ball, strawberry, or chunk of peach – whatever they include in the frozen mixed fruit bags I get from the store).

        Are peaches ok?

Pitted fruits-the fruit is OK. The wood, seeds/pits are NOT OK.

So peaches are fine, and I have fed them before

The fruit is ‘safe’ although fruit is very high in sugar and, as such, can cause some issues with the digestive tract.

With that being said, my Maryann and Dono get a couple of raisins every day. It is the one ‘bad thing’ I do.

Coco thinks a slice of peach is her idea of fruit heaven.

Although golden raisins are a very close second…

One of my bunnies favorites is banana, and I always end up feeding a little too much because I love hearing them eat it!

Hmmm, that’s a tricky one.  Now that I’ve figured out that courgettes=zucchini, and that zucchini is a squash, and that squash is on the BB safe veggie list – I’m going to gander  that it’s probably okay, but you probably want to avoid the seeds.  What does everyone else think?

Zuccini is O.K. (high in nutrients too) but in my experience, no rabbit has really liked it and they will not eat it.

After some more detective work, aubergine=eggplant, and eggplant is on the BB safe veggie list – so I guess aubergine has the green light!
