Well, while watching the Olympics, my favorite commercial so far has to be the one with the Clydesdale horse training to pull the Budweiser coach.

When I was little, I wanted a Clydesdale BADLY. They are the most beautiful of horses, along with Arabians, which we had a few of when I was a baby. My dad/grandfather trained them for the California San Mateo Mounted Patrol. And my mom/grandmother raised Weimeraners. Both were trained to come to the same whistle, so the horses would parade the paddock whenever my mom called the dogs in for dinner. xD

Anyway, the scenes of horse supposedly pulling the train cars is a mite disturbing, as I would hate to see anyone actually try to do that with ANY animal, much less a beautiful horse…but WOW….

Hunka-hunka-burnin’ horse luv, bebe! What a gorgeous creature!

Is anyone here of like mind? ^_^

I have not seen the add – (I don’t have TV – it’s a bummer not to get to see the Olympics)

If the horse actually was pulling a train car – it is really easy to fake that kind of thing – then the train car had been striped down to just a shell and some wheels.
Those Clydesdale are actually strong enough to pull an empty train car – they are built for it.

I remember, when I was little, getting to see some of the Budweiser Clydesdale’s – the “little ones” had been left at a stable near my house while the others were in a Parade. My mom – who is about 5’6″, was standing on a platform that was about 5 inches tall & she was wearing heals – the “little” Clydesdale’s towered over her. It was soooo cool!

            They are amazing creatures.

I haven’t seen the ad yet either, but I will be keeping an eye out for it because we get an American feed of the Olympics as well as a Canadian one. I just love Clydesdales. They were the first type of horse I was ever introduced too! I can still remember the day thinking “…people.. RIDE this animal???????” Little did I know how big they were compared to some other breeds! But from that day I’ve always loved Clydesdales

Actually, I have a TV – but it is only hooked up to a DVD player – so I get no channels. I just found I don’t really miss TV.

I’m addicted to Netflix (movie distributer – You would be amazed at what you can rent through them, sometimes I rent TV shows like Lost, Entourage or the BBC series Midsommer Murders) & NPR (National Public Radio). I get plenty of entertainment that way.

I love the BBC proggies. All Creatures, Monarch of the Glen (no longer running *sniffle*), Inspector Lindley and Miss Marple, Rosemary and Thyme, Dr. Who…lolz. ^_^

Yes the Clydesdales are the signature horses for a beer company here in America. The closest I’ve ever gotten to seeing something like it in person was a percheron a neighbor friend of my hubby’s owned at one time. Gorgeous horse!

can you believe the amount of money they spend on building a stadium for the olympics? yet its only on for a few weeks, the could give that money to charity instead.
