question, i have two cats and a dog. the dog is an indoor dog as he is a pom-chi, but goes out potty and is exposed to fleas. the cats are indoor outdoor cats.  moreland has been itching.  his ears and face.  no sign of mites however is going to the vet thursday for the bun vet to meet him and get established and have a check up.  question is what can i use for fleas????

they said advantage and gave me a 1800 number to call however i thought i would ask the people of binky bunny if they knew?

I would get a recommendation from the vet – NEVER USE FRONTLINE but you can use Revolution and Advantage (I think, I hope someone chimes in on that).

I have used Revolution many times on my rabbits with no side effects but you have to get this from the vet.

Well, that is the dosage I use – the dosage depends on the size of the animal I believe so I think you will need his weight – the vet might just sell you one dosage too hopefully since it’s so pricey so it’s worth asking about that or having him apply it there.

Advantage for kittens is safe.  A very respected vet here, Dr Scheenstra has given me this information. You should have your dog on Advantage too.  I have never had a flea in my life and I had a dog for 13 years and still have an inside cat that I do treat as she will scoot out for a few minutes.

Edited: Advantage is sold at many pet stores and discount pet stores so you do not need a prescription.

i do treat them but we still get a staggering flea here and there. its the climate of where i live in a wooded area.  they hop in the house.  its not a huge problem i dont find them on me or anything, i just want my buns to be treated well.  i will look into geting the advantage for kittens.  the dog and cats are treated.

                  thank you

No.  You can use Advantage for kittens which is safe.
