my dwarf bun that i got on the 13 aug. has been having watery eyes every now and then i was wondering if this could be cause by dust under my bed she has been running around under it i pick up some herbal eyedrops that have euphrasia in them (eyebright) i didnt know if those were useful or not

I wouldn’t use anything over the counter that your vet didn’t say to use-it could be very dangerous. Most meds for us or dogs and cats can kill rabbits. I’m strongly suggesting you not use them!!!

How watery are her eyes? Is the fur around the eye wet? Both eyes? Is she sneezing? When did this start? (sry for all the questions, just trying to get a feel for it)

I would also discourage her from getting under the bed – you need to block it off.

I would suggest cleaning thoroughly under the bed! Those swiffers are awesome for that unless of course it is carpeted.  It could be the dust for sure. I agree with the others do not use eye drops until you have the go ahead from a rabbit savvy vet!

Yes, although the drops are mentioned in a book, what we’ve all found is often there are outdated or just incorrect info given in those books (and even pet store employees/breeders and some vets will give incorrect info!)

Best to phone the vet and check to ensure the drops are OK, because the book could be wrong-basically there’s no law about what you can and can’t publish, so it may be sold but could be incorrect.

Weepy eyes can also be a problem of tooth problems, which are really hard to tell, even for a vet with a scope. I’d highly recommend taking her in for a checkup and letting the vet see her eyes, and mouth.
