I bought Tucker some alfalfa hay to eat just for treats and I’m a bit concerned with the texture of it…it feels really hard like maybe stiff? It’s completely different from the Timothy hay both in smell and in texture/appearance. What SHOULD alfalfa look like? I got kaytee brand because I only wanted a small little bag of it and the oxbow was a huge bag. They both looked the same though..they look less like strands of dried grass and more like somebody took a bunch of weeds and small bush type things and picked them, cut them and made them into hay..if that makes any sense. I thought that they just LOOKED different at the store since both the kaytee and the oxbow looked the same. So, I thought this must be normal and brought it home. It SMELLS fine…it smells so sweet even I want to eat it haha..ok not really..but you know what I mean. So I think it’s ok..I just wonder if it should look like this..it’s almost like I don’t know..some kind of dried flower looking thing.
I’m sure this makes no sense so hopefully you all know what I’m rambling on about!
