  How stupid is it that I’m extatic right now because I finally found a place that sells pelleted horse bedding to use in all of my litter boxes? (My ferrets have 5 boxes in their mansion and I have two fairly large rabbit boxes.)

  Good find TRM! I was very excited when I found a source nearby of decent hay by the bale, and I have since discovered a feed store a little further away that sells the Barn Dry pellets for litter. I’d be interested to know what you think of them, I still prefer the Aspen pellets because of the way they hide pee odor, but at 1/3 the price the Barn Dry is hard to beat.

  Ferrets are hunters, they can’t mix with the bunnies.

  They’re all in cages in the living room. It looks like I’ll be adding a level to the nic cage so Buster can have enough room without me mixing him in with the babies. I’m sure glad I built a cage instead of investing $ into one that can’t be modified.

  Yay – you will love using these. What brand is it? Let us know how you like them too. I love that they are so inexpensive and odor absorbent.

  yeah i know they are used to hunt bunnies, but i do know someone who had bunnies first and she got a baby ferret and now they get on swimmingly, of course she doesnt leave them together unsupervised but they just play together happily

  The Great Litter Box Pellet Caper didn’t go so well today. I am terrible with directions and once I got to the general area where Tractor Supply is located I drove around three different shopping centers, then passed right by it and couldn’t turn around because there were NO UTURN signs at the next 50 intersections! Blerg!
  
  Then I finally made it to the store and found all the livestock feed…but I could NOT find the horse bedding. I did locate some wood stove pellets for $5/40 lbs. but I couldn’t find any place on the bag where it said whether or not it had accelerant in it. Rather than trust the word of a stock boy I opted to go with the horse bedding (which I found outisde) for $6.99/40 lbs. I got two bags.
  
  A trip that should have taken me an hour tops took almost two. At least I know where the stupid store is now…
  
  I wound up with Equine Pine (I guess it’s like Feline Pine? Except only costs 1/4 as much.) It was the only brand they had. I’ll let ya know how well it works.
