Yesterday I came home from work with a banana – I wanted to reward Layla for her good behavior (given all the stress she went through) with a treat.

So, I took about an inch long chunk of banana, and let her nibble it out of my hand. She LOVED it. However, I woke up this morning and her cage is quite smelly. There are a BUNCH of cecals all over the place, and she has eaten some since, but theres still a couple left over. She has been eating hay and going to the bathroom just fine since. Looking back it was probably way too much banana, especially since I don’t know how old she is.

Think she’ll be ok? I’ve been keeping an eye on her all afternoon and everything seems ok. I just have to clean her cage yet tonight because it really smells. I’m not too worried because, as I said, she seems ok, active, etc.

Some reassurance would be awesome though

I am sure she will be ok.  As for treats small small amounts. Like the size of the last njoint of the little finger.  I am sure a lot of us have made that mistake. I know I have.  And yes ppeeeeeeuw.

Yeah, an inch is too much – you just want a small sliver. I’m sure she was in banana heaven though.
