Ohhh. I got Cotton’s fav foods today. I started to clicker train to get him used to click = treat.  Unfortunately he is afraid of the clickers noise. HE used to take food from my hand no problem.  Now he is leary to do so.  In fact he stopped taking food from me adn when I place it in front of him too. I stopped using the clicker. Maybe I just praise him and sound all excited like I used to when he did something I liked. Like his happy jump. Darn. Thats dissapointing. OH well. Maybe Ruby will get the hang of it. She is young yet. Maybe the noise won’t frighten her.

Since Cotton is used to verbal praises I should just stick with that. I can work on holding a foot and a toe daily in small spurts to get them both used to having their feet handled like the book said. Without using the clicker on Cotton.  Just voice and food.

I wanted to teach him to sit  up. He does that anyway when he is on the floor begging.

I forget Cotton is alert to all noises. So the clicker noise probably scares him. PHoooey

I use clicker training with my dog so I have a couple books on the subject.

Anyway, you might be holding it too close to his ears. Try holding the clicker farther away from him. If that doesnt work, try muffling it in your pocket.

My bunny hated the clicker. I don’t use it. ever. She’s three now and i occassionally spray her, like a cat, with a water bottle and say “Sophie, no no no” and then spray her when she’s being naughty. I break out the water sprayer every 6 months or so, but basically when she’s going for the cord to my lamp I say “Sophie no….” and she stops and darts in the opposite direction before i get the other two NO!’s out.

The book Rabbits for Dummies has great training with treats as a reward. Sophie goes “night night” (into her cage), comes and stops on command with treat reinforcement. She’s better behaved than most people’s dogs!
