I got Cotton spayed in May when she was 6 months old.  They shaved her belly as usually for surgery- but the only part of her hair that has grown back is where the incision was!  So she has a bald rectangle with a short line of hair in the middle.  Has anyone else ever noticed this?

I assumed it was because she has not shed all of her coat out yet???  Her body reconginzed the incision as “trauma” or a wound and responded by healing and regrowing hair.  And the shaved area will regrow hair when her body replaces her coat?

it is not noticeable unless I have her on her back or am holding her vertical to trim nails, etc.  But it looks kinda funny.  Of course she hates to have her belly brushed so that has been easier!

HI to the owner of the other Cotton. By the way I saw her pic and she is pretty.

ok… I had a dog that was spayed years ago. Took quite  a while for her shaved hair to grow back. Seems the rate the hair grows back depends on the pet. It eventually will grow back. Hers is just taking it’s sweet time.

When our little girl Misha was spayed it took a LONG time for her fur to grow back completely!  It grew back in strange patterns and we too wondered if it was due to scaring but eventually all her fur came back in and she had her adorable belly again!

A bare triangle with a line of hair in the middle.  Sort of sounds like a ohhh can’t think of the name of it.  You know when some weird pattern is made in a cornfield and people like to say UFO did it. Sounds like you bun has a crop circle.  Yeah a crop circle thats the name of it. ahhh Glad it came to me before I posted this.

Yes the vet cut a crop circle on her tum ehehe. Sorry I just had to make a joke. NO offense intended.
